Dear friends of the Sunny Sajhapur,

The land of the thousand lakes is attracting our very own STARS who have illuminated our hearts with their mesmerizing DOHORI and foot tapping music in the past. Yes, the MAHA jodi, Kunti Moktan, Ram Krishna Dhakal and Nabin Bhattarai are coming to Minnesota to perform in Aug 17. Parts of the proceeds will go to the Empower Nepal Foundation Scholarship Funds. Therefore your presence will be very special not just for the stars but also for the children of Myagdi and Nangi Village.

As far as my experinece about the MAHA show is concerned, I had a hard time understanding their dohori...all 6 or 7 of us sitting in the same row were going "huh? what did he say?" because they were singing in such a high pitched voice, especially hari bansha that one word was overlapped by other.

All i could hear was something like " ghooos.....blah blah ....gwammm blaah blaahh sarkar...blah blah.."

so pretty soon we all gave up..and YoungBloodz is right, heck most of them put me to sleep. Mamta Deepbim was better than the rest...

Dont matter whether it was slow or fast, most of the songs felt like fillers...just something to fill up the airtime...

I 'd rather that the organizers brought or sponsered one good band like 1974 A.D. than bring a whole bunch of artists who don't have the same punch.

Someone should think about sponsoring bands like Nepathya, Mukti&Revival to play in the States...

I forgot to mention that the tickets are available through www.dhukuti.com and at Everest on Grand Restaurant. Students in St. Cloud State can contact Mitesh Rai the president of NSA.

Katmandude ji, sorry to hear that you had a hard time hearing the dohori. Perhaps the sound system at your place was not good enough hence you had trouble hearing them properly and I totally understand how frustrating it gets if there's no proper sound system. MAHA's Dohori item was very unique, who else but only THEY could come up with such a mindblowing performance! If you missed it and would love to see it, you're welcome to attend the show again right here in MN or some place else where it's being organized.

Nepathya is definitely a wonderful band and who knows they might be invited in the next yr's convention so I guess we'll just have to be patient, haina ta?
