I did hear something to the effect of Maoists trying to extort money from hardworking nepalis in the USA threatening harm to families in Nepal since three years ago. The poor victims will not come out and tell anyone, not even the authorities for fear of harm to their families in Nepal.
There must be a way to get at these lowlives, maybe post the person's name in these nepali forums anonymously (bad thing about this is people may post names simply out of enmity) or wait until enough time has elapsed and tell a friend (the word will eventually get out into the community) and/or anonymously call the authorities.

I heard that there are few Maoist and/or sympathizers in city of Chicago. I can call up my friends and find out the names.

There are many open supporters of Moists in America. That is fine. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Anyway it's a free country. But ppl are being extorted here is shocking. In this situation, I don't know what people would do. I will give probably give plenty of thinking before calling any authority. First I would make sure my family is safe and secure back home than calling authorities in haste. Oh yea, before I call authorities, I make sure I have evidence of extortion.

Makuro, I disagree with you. This is a free country, and I am with people who believe in freedom. However, Maoist and freedom don't go together. Communism = dictatorship = no human rights. Commies have no place in America, I think they should go live/study in China or Cuba.

I have even heard about nepalese doing PhD in Canada/US, who dreams of becoming ministers in Nepal when Maoists will come to the power. But until then, they will remain PR, Green Card holders in North America.

well.... how can these buggers who take refuge in India can come up with any original idea to bring up the country.
there is no hope with all these parties... who have some connections wit India..
