Never heard or seen such a rally... Naked rally if peace talks fail (source:KOL) KAILALI, July 30 - The residents of Lamki have issued a threat to stage a naked rally in the capital if the peace process does not get underway within a week. They are currently on a weeklong relay hunger strike

Lonely and Bhunte Ji, When you have arrived in the battlefield, then you have to do anything. There is no boundery of what to do and what not. To come out naked publicly is the most difficult act that anybody can think of. If the Kailalians have decided to do that, we should appreciate this. Let's encourage such rallys in Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Pokhara and Birgunj also to pressurize the government to be responsible towards the people. The so called relay hunger strikes have got no meaning, no significance at all. Such striles bear no weight. So, we should think of modified ways of pressurization tools. Unfortunately, this is not a new invention! This has already been practiced in India. So, we cannot claim in Guiness Book!

Krantiveer jyu, Ani laj nabhayeko nakachara bhandaina ta...I am pretty much confused if it is going to be organized by the five protesting parties? There are plenty other ways to settle the current political problem. If naked rally happens, that will be a great shame for Nepal. Are we still in stone age?

Bhunte Ji, Pls do not get confused about our existing five parties. They do not have guts to take such a bold step. If you call for a tea party, they will attend without fail. But, if you call for some sacrifice, they won't come. Participating a naked rally for a political objective is a great sacrifice! Normal people cannot do this. You need people committed from their blood for this. So, this may be practically difficult. But, if it is somehow done, it will yield an amazing result. The person who participates, has to sacrifice a lot. But,once it is successful, everybody gets benefitted. Those participants' sons, grandsons and ... down the line all will be proud of theose participants. What do you think? Krantiveer

Krantiveer, actually that's not 'krantikari kadam'. one may pump and praise the victims in 'krantikary' style, but thats not the way how bravity sounds like. Who wants their own father, brother, son, mother, sister, bhauju, etc wanted to rally naked like the herds of animal? do you? Isn't it like encouraging one who suicides in East Asia? Comman, there are other plenty ways to proest if there are any cause.

If the rally is to be organised by Kathmanduties I may say that they might have been carried away by the western media, almost once/twice naked protest rallies a year in the western world seems normal, BUT... (a big but which makes the whole difference) as the people of Lamki are those who are staging the rally, me thinks they are really pissed off with the never materializing peace talks. May be they are the ones to be crushed under the crusader of both the maoist and the RNA if peace talks fails. Who knows, atti bhayesi khatti tira lagnu kaar lagcha re bhente buda paka haru..... Just my two cents.

Vivid ji, YES, but i was confused with krantiveer's posting that the people there r not affiliated with any political parties, but they are on relay hunger strikes. Only five protesting parties on hunger strike sometime ago. then i thought Lamki some tribal group or some organization, etc....anyway thanks... ani jagga kinnu bhayo ta?

Regarding the title of this thread, there is nothing erroneous, in my view, if the ppl of Lamki have issued a menace to stage a naked rally in the capital. This huge step (it's only threat now...) will indisputably give good lessons to the govt. and others. (Y) I do agree hundred % to krantiveer and vivid.

Naked Rally? Well we know how Nepalese Govt. behaves nowadays... They will stage a Naked Rally... but the Govt. will not give a damn about it. That's for sure. Neither the polical parties nor the Govts are serious of anything that goes on in the country. Think about this... Maoists's leaders take refuge in India, Nepali Congress acts the way India wants, UML dances on Indian tunes, The Nepali Govt. formed as per Indian instruction.

People, Doing a naked rally is not a new thing in Nepal culture. In western Nepal, especially among the Tharu community, women come out in their birthday suits banging their pots and pans if the rains fail for long during the rice planting season. Such a display of female sensual aggression is believed to make the god of rains, Indra, come. And come he does aplenty after such stimulation! Now I am not sure about the consequences of the naked rally by the men from Lamki (it is a small roadside bazaar in West Nepal near Dhangadi). If it was just a naked rally, I would not worry too much. But if the rally is to follow a seven-day hunger strike, I fear for how it is going to reflect on Nepali manhood. The results of biological studies on the impact of nutritional deprivation on male organ is well established: each day of starvation results in 15 percent temporary reduction in volume-mass and 22 percent decline in erectible tendency. You can just imagine what the Nepali manhood is going to look like after a week of no food: shrivelled, limp, and not much to look at. Sajhites, is that how you want the Nepali man to be beamed into television screens across the world by BBC and CNN from Kathmandu in a week's time? Just imagine how that will leave our dating chances in this land of opportunity? So in order to avert this national calamity, we must either force the Maoists and the King to bring peace immediately or we better find a way of slipping a few viagra tablets in their water bottles before the limps from Lamki takeover the streets of Kathmandu. This is a final wake up call to save Nepal! SC, the occasional alarmist

Where is Rastafaria, where is Poonte jyu? We need your mature wisdom and considered judgement on this issue of life and death for the Nepali nation!! Folks, wake up, we don't have much time left before the Lamkians limp to Kathmandu!! Didn't they say a week, oh boy, three days are already up! This is no time to lay back and pat yourself! If we don't act now, there is not going to be anything left to pat in a few more days!! SC, now really alarmed
