Mr. Krishna Prashad Nirola from DC is the President. Mrs Mina Giri, Mr. Girija Gautam won for various other posts. I could not remember the rest. Next year's Convention will also be held in DC. DC also won the "Bhale Goal" in overtime this year in soccer. So looks like all the power is concentrated in DC somehow and I'm not sure if this is truly good for the well being of all the Nepalese in America.

thanks for ANA results, Kiran. Did you attend panel discussions on human rights siutation in Nepal and IT? Did anyone - any comments? Thanks SEBS (Society of Ex-Budhanilkanth Students) for an active backroom support. I don't say this as an ANA member member, but someone who really enjoyed being at Philly. The sheer logistics of such a large gathering can be daunting. Kiran, by the way, is president of SEBS. (Kiran, pls send me an e-mail at au_nyu@yahoo.com with your telphone no.)

If one(who attended the function) had to guess the participants in that ANA gathering, what that guess would be? Just curious.

I think it's unfortunate that Dr. Jeetendra Joshee lost. He would have brought in fresh directions to ANA and appropriately succeed outgoing President Shyam Karki. We can take some hope in the fact that the majority of the people in Dr. Joshee's panel did win, some of whom are new faces and could bring new vigor in the ANA community.

Yeah, I found that unusual too. Everyone from Dr. Joshee's team won the elections, including the seats for vice-president (Girija Gautam), secretary (Suman Timsina) and editor-in-chief (Bidya Ranjeet). Jeetendra Joshee was the only one that lost. Wonder if anything is fishy. Krishna Nirola is one of those old-time ANA boys. ANA's reform needs someone younger and an outsider like Jeetendra Joshee.
