IF jyu, I had read some of your articles in TKP, I thought they were good. And I have also enjoyed your many postings here. So you will be one of the few Nepali Sinologists who actually know Chinese! My hats off to you on your achievements, keep up the good work! Would love to visit a Chinese restaurant with you next time I am in Kantipuri nagari .... if you can endure the company of tandooriwala that is. By the way, what did you think of MR Josses' TKP piece on Sino-Indian relations that came out today? How good is his grip on this issue? Who are considered the experts in this field? I would appreciate your comments on this and the general staus of Chinese studies in Nepal. Is there such a thing called a China Study Center in Nepal? What kind of works do they produce? Ni hou (the only Chinese word I know, don't know what it means exactly!) SC, delighted by Chinese cuisine (except the bull's balls, stir fried Schewan style) |

Namaste all, Thanks much to you all for taking some time off your really busy schedule to visit my "simple" web-page. Vivid: The world is small, so who knows, we might get to know each other offline too. Marich: I will soon have a guestbook, then you can sign it. As to your query on Late Iswar raj Aryal and Krishna Raj Aryal, let me just say that they are my close relatives. 13 deen ko nata ho. And you are right about my location. Suva Chintak: Thanks for your words. Yes, I did read Mano Ranjan Josse's piece on TKP yesterday, and its quite good. I have enjoyed his pieces since 1998. Sometimes he lacks analysis, but he is good information wise. Regarding your question on Sinologists in Nepal: I am yet to come across one yet. Some people like Dr Harka Gurung and Mohan Lohani have written some pieces on China, but given their trainining and work experience--one is an English Literature major, the other one is Mr. Know it all and quite over-rated in Nepal--I did not find them very "impressive". There is a China Study Center in Nepal, but I don't know where its office is. Its being run by M Regmi, the son of Late Dilli Raman Regmi, but again, none of the people there have any first hand experience with China and Chinese affairs. I'll sure love to take you out for some good Chinese food. Why don't you come to Beijing this year or next year? Rajunpl; Thanks fro your words. Insallah! I will be writing more. Deep and Najar: Thanks for pointing out the errors. I have taken care of those. DWI: Yeah, mine is a little way-off field of study. But, i love it. My view is: If you have the deciation, motivation and can-do attitude, you can do it! and I am quite happy with what I studied and the oppurtunities that came my way. DWI= What does this mean- Drinking "W" Influence?? JIra bro: Hahah Change garchu bro.. tara ma sabai limit ma garchu nee.. no excessive drinking or smoking...and I only use one nick to post messages here. Khimu: I will be uploading images soon. Dilasha: Thank you.. Bhunte: Thanks for your words and I also think the same way. there's a long wya to go before i achieve all that I want to. So, wish me luck!! Namaste!! |

IF thanks for sharing your info. Regarding: >>I am yet to come across one yet. I have come across at one. Prof. Dhruba Kumar, CNAS, TU. I read one of his book long back published by CNAS about China's foreign policy. Though the book focused mainly on China's foreign policy during a short time, I found the book very intriguing and the author knowledgeable. I forgot name of the book. |

Hey IF, Great to see your page. Enjoyed visiting it. As China grows all the more in global influence, we in Nepal will come to depend on you to make Nepal benefit from China's growing prosperity. Keep on writing more and more articles. And again, best wishes for your success at the University of Beijing as you start your studies there from next month on. Let's have a farewell party at the end of this month. Also, I have always enjoyed discussing -- face to face -- lots of political and IR stuff with you in Kathmandu. oohi ashu ktm, nepal |

Trai bro, Leaving your contents which don't need further jurisdiction, I would only like to comment on your website. Yes, it is certainly a good idea to have a website for a brilliant scholar like our Trai bro. Already an iimprovement in less than 48 hours. The black shade suits better than the older blue version. I still don't like the font :s and perhaps all the articles should be kept under one section. And your contact address, email etc. should be easily accessible on the page. Anyways, a good start. Like I said before, today we live in the age of "antarjalo ko highway" so u don't need help from anyone to improve your site further . JAI GOOGLE.COM :) yor hitaishi, Oys PS. its almost august, don't forget the PIC |

Dear IF jyu, The bull's balls delicacy joke aside, I might take you up on your offer to visit Beijing! Are you already there? I will be there in late September for some two weeks. Let me know where to catch you there and we could perhaps visit the temple Arnico built. I would love to chat with you while enjoying the sights of the great Chinese leap forward. I do admire what they have achieved in the last 20 years. Except perhaps for the tiny IT island around Banglore, I think the Chiniyas have left their Hindi biraders a long way behind. Ni hou! SC, perhaps on Aranico's footsteps! |
