I just got a student VISA to the USA and I have to be in the states in two weeks time. Does anyone know which route/itinerary or airline would be the cheapest? And on the other hand, which would be the most convenient? Any suggestions from the ones who recently flew to the US?

Best route for you will be bankok, Tokyo, and USA. If possible, try to stop in bankok for one or two nights, stay in a hotel, enjoy the night life, and then only board the plane for usa , for you never know when you will be going back and get the chance to dance in that thai Hotel full of those cuties again. ALso for the cheapest fare click on the banner above, sunrise travels. they have something special for august and september ,

Can anyone help me to find cheap tickets to go to Nepal on December. I am planning to fly around 19-20 and return on Jan 15-20 I would be grateful if you could suggest different airlines/travel agents so that I can start calling them.

Dautari, as you probably know, most people take a combination of Northwest and Thai or RNAC, or Thai to LA and then make a domestic connection. RNAC (if you trust this airline) flies to Osaka twice a week from where you can take Northwest. The RA flight departs KTM around midnight, reaching Osaka around noon and from there you take Northwest. This routing hardly requires you any long layover but then personally I would never take a chance with RNAC (Royal Nepal Always Cancels). Flying to Bangkok on Thai and connecting to Northwest via Tokyo towards your destination or continuing on Thai to LA and then making a domestic connection may be more reliable options though they invlove a layover of at least about 12 hrs at Bangkok. You may also want to explore the options of flying Transavia (via Amsterdam) or Lauda (via Vienna). Thanks to Blair ko sarkar which decided to require transit visas for Nepalis, otherwise Qatar Airways via London would have been an option.

Thanks for all your suggestions The best rate I have come across so far is Cathay pacific .. KTM-HK-LA-sT.PAUL,MN costs $ 695 plus insurance ..then I am offered 8 % discount. I heard Koreal Air would also cost about the same. But I will check out Cathay Pacific first. BTW, thanks a lot to endless knot for the link. It's great.

Thanks again, chipledhunga Like I mentioned, I am trying to minimize the cost as much as possible and the best bargain I have had so far has been Cathay pacific. I would have gone for Lauda too - via Vienna would mean less time in transit - but I guess that is more expensive. BTW, are you the same chipledhunga that I saw on "lokgeet" yahoo group?

Aba Lonelyji lai chahi ke bhanne..between mid Dec and early Jan, it is the most expensive time of the year to fly. If you can leave by Dec 15, you can probably save a couple of hundred bucks. You may want to try calling Peaceland and Sunrise that advertise on Sajha. I have used the former's service twice and can strongly recommend it. Also 3rd Eye seems to be a popular choice though personally I did not have much luck with them (slow response and not so good deals). As far as the airlines are concerned, most likely you will be flying Korean Air or Cathay Pacific (both are very good airlines in my experience) till Bangkok or Hong Kong and then connecting on RNAC or Thai. To compare: for comfort choose Korean, for entertainment choose Cathay. In terms of food and staff friendliness, I think both are about the same. Thai is another good airline but seems to be a bit more expensive. Lau subhayatra lonelyji, bihe gari aune hola ni aba ta kaso?

Dautari, like I mentioned Cathay is a great airline, go for it, particularly since you got a good deal. And yes, I am the same person you have seen in the lokgeet egroup.
