We have been discussing on different topics as "king is the root of all problem" "republic of nepal" and whatever. Let's think one step ahead.... Suppose we are able to throw the monarchy in nepal and got new republic of nepal.
* What characteristics we look in a person to be our president?
* Who is the first generation/second generation person likely to be nominated as president?
(name, profession, etc.....)
Just a thought....

we havn't found a charismatic personality yet for that position....India had people like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Patel, etc. China had Mao. In the current situation finding such personality would be like finding a gem in a pile of thupro....

No person from current Kangress, Communists or Panche etc. may fit to be our president. A president nominee should have shown no lineage to any political parties (must show his/her faith on kingdom over political agenda), has been reputed in his/her professional field (from daily cleaning job to the post of secretary), has distanced himself/herself from any form of corruption, has emense moral value to lead the countrymen. I have not seen any one yet... who knows we might have someone working silently in the country as Dr. Kalam worked in India.

Do you want your American-style presidency (in which the president is both the figurehead and an executive person) or do you want it Indian-style (in which the president is the figurehead and an elected PM dolds executive powers)?

If I have to go for republic, I want Indian Style.
(American style president - people's vote + no limit on tenure) = Nepali Monarchy
If we want powerful president, then repolishing with our monarchy something here and something there is just fine with me. Just my thoughts.

i don't see any.
We need new leader you know and we need "DEMOCRATIC NEPAL" (NOT REPUBLIC)
yOU know i don't like one thing about Nepal government they just waist thier time, they canceled their meetting all the time i just don't know why "son of a bitch" haru they just don't know what to do next they just can't go through schedule. I don't like the way Nepal government changes PM, changing like a baby's diaper ani Nepal ko progress kasari hunchha .
You know if we really want to do something we (public) have to stand together "santipurbak" (not with cruel ).
yes, we need another " Madan Bhandari" as a president. He was the man yaar we need someone just like him.
