Oh real estate investement is following US model these days in Nepal... good good good But, it costs around 1 karor for two apartments in that complex. for 57 apartments it is anywhere between 25-30 karor nepali rupee. hmmm...what would be the total cost of the project? |

For decades, there has been an underlying tension between an underlying tension between historic preservation (ala Theophile's gaudy dadaism retro art deco Babar Maha lRevisited) and environmenatl design (real Bahils and Bahals of Patan, Bhaktapur and Old Kathmandu): the former to protect our Rana heritage of oppression and culture based on British model, typically by applying traditional methods of construction and conservation to familiar Rana buildings from the past; the latter trying to protect human health and natural habitat and promote alternative sources of energy, often through the application of innovative technologies and construction methods to novel forms. However, these ugly and gaudy PAGODA cum Alcatratz CONCRETE Blocks style dwelling blocks do not interest me. I like Chinese style mud-rammed under ground houses as my home like in Hunan Province. This idea may sound nice but I wonder if Kathmandu Valley is set up to accommodate this kind structure. What environmental impact will result from this kind of settings? I am particularly concern on the depleting water table and sanitation of the valley. We have to bring in the questions of water, sewer and traffic into equations. It is mean that sewer of 50 houses will be dumped in to Bagmati river, who will be the victim or who will suffer from this, where are they going to get water from?? we know that water table is depleting in Kathmandu valley. Bagmati and Bishnumati has literally dried up, there is more to discuss on this kind of issues than what have been expressed here... |

Its a good start indeed. But what we need is a middle class housing rather than a high class to discourage a 'Char Kothe Ghar in Char Anna Jagga'.Everyone wants a own a shelter in Kathmandu and the small unplanned houses are the reason Kathmansu is over crowded today. I'd love to see some middle class housing outside the ring road within the range of 10-12 Lakhs so that one can put 25% down and still can offord the monthly mortgage. Just a thought..any inouts welcome! |

are these appartments ready to live in yet? impressive for those who can afford it, its a good alternative to buiying land and going through the whole contruction process. is this the same , or didnt Chaudhary group also have a similar venture like this, i think it was called Kathmandu Residency, also houses in Budanilkantha and i thought Naxal as well? Maybe i'm wrong. |

Looking at the facilities page: http://www.aceapartment.com/facilities.htm I am somewhat surprised to see a photo of the swimming pool of the Club Himalaya hotel in Nagarkot. ... which makes me wonder where I've seen the little garden waterfall and the children's playground before... Surely given the current state of the building as shown on the following page http://www.aceapartment.com/design.htm the gardens could not possibly be complete yet. So what is this? Plagiarism? False advertising? |

Rubbish concrete block and all the buzz and hype of Prithivi and his mate Sakya cha. Having done extensive Occupation, Health and Safety Management....the concrete block is a death trap waiting to happen. So many unanswered questions. I would not live near that area where pollution is the worst in Kathmandu. I have my dream house planned near the mountains near Juni Besi far from the Kathmandu maddening crowd. I recommend a CAVEAT EMPTOR. |

This Pagoda style concrete blocks look like from Batman's Gotham city of nightmares.... They do not tap the synergies of green building and historic preservation. visit http://www.architecturalrecord.com for your reference and ask lots of questions before buying these eyesores. |
