Dear Computerji, I do not understand your question. Are you asking about B2B and B2C in terms of their correlationship with E-Commerce ? Okay, I have done E-marketing and E-Commerce. This is my understanding of them all in a nut shell. EB = EC + BI + SRM + CRM + ERP or, Electronic business equals to the sum of electronic commerce plus, business intelligence plus supply chain management plus customer relationship management plus enterprise resources planning. Look at the websites of Singapore Harbour Authority or any Multinational Corporation. In these large organisation's website all these elements are embedded like simple contents of pages. You can simply click on them and all the interaction guides are provided. If you want SRM then you just have to click on it. If you want the B2B site then click on it and so forth. You may be denied entry to B2B site as you may not have the pass word to get in. All protected by the firewalls etc. Well give me a ho for more explanation....you are more then well come. PLEASE in case you did not understand all these complex terminologies then just use GOOGLE and get use to finding explanations galore.... Good luck and Namaste ! Your humble e-Marketer I am that I am ! Ranjit Rana

Thanks, I was asking strictly about B2B and B2C ecommerce. I know what each means. Just wanted to know about the current situation and problem definitions, and also implementation, and future trends of both. Thank you.

what do you mean by b2b and b2c e-commerce? B2B stands for Business to Business and 75% of online transaction is done between business to business for right now Example would be dell computers buying a computer parts from other companies online. B2C stands for Business to Consumer, it might seems like companies are selling lots of stuff online but it isn't lot compare to companies doing transaction with other companies online. Example of B2C will dell selling the computers online.. If you really want to learn more about B2B and B2C then you will have to go more deeply in Business Models and Portals.

B2B is direct marketing communications between two businesses or a group of businesses that has been currently done by American car industry interms of electronic data exchange. This can be providing accesss to the website to the primary or secondary contracters to reverse bid, allow them to see what the manufacturers just in time inventory needs are and much more. The trend seems to be dropping and that 75% usage rate of B2B seems to be a rubbery figure. Perhaps, try to gain access to Jupitor Matrix public domain database or seek this dropping figure through reputable academic site. The cost is rather prohibitive. B2C stands for business allowing access to consumers to visit the e-tailer, do purchase, ask questions, seek to do permission marketing, remind the customer about the arrival of new merchandise through one to one emailing and much much more. This sector is growing and has reached saturation point in advanced economies of the world. Cheap to implement as the costs are moderate and are tax deductible as business related expense. There are such things as C2G being consumer to government depatments and vice versa. Lastly, there is also such thing as B2E or E2B being business to employee and vice versa. These sectors are slowly growing too. Hope this will help you a littel bit.

Revised update: EB = EC + BI + CRM + SCM + ERP Thus, CRM platform implies B2C focus and SCM implies B2B platform in the portal. However, B2B need to have trust, commitment and continity for the long term business relationship. Cherio.
