ashu	Posted on 04-Oct-00 10:51 PM Happy dassain to all active and passive GBNC members. oohi ashu HOME (A poem by this year's Madan Puras-kaar-winning poet Dinesh Adhikari) Whenever I see People Heading [to] the temples With offerings I don't know why I'm always in a hurry to get back home My [young] son is shaping the [future] With his [small] hands So what if he does not steal the yogurt? I think he's braver than Krishna My little daughter With her bright eyes And oh-so tender fingers She always manages to drive away my fatigue I find her stronger than Kali And when my beloved [wife covers her head] And serves me a platter of smiles I find her more generous than Laxmi Forgive me, if I have offended anyone Those who always leave their homes For the temples in search of peace I cannot even bring myself To see humanity there So what if those devotees have [the world with them?] If they have not discovered happiness in their own homes? I wouldn't hesitate To call them born losers When I'm away And see People Busy clanging bells in the temples I don't know why Unknowingly And slowly I take it out from my pocket And start caressing The photographs of my children. Biswo	Posted on 05-Oct-00 02:00 PM Hi Ashu: We are regularly posting.So it was wrong for us to write happy Dashain.Probably better option could be "Happy Ghatasthapanaa", "Happy tritiyaa", "Happy Phulpati" etc. So I should write "Happy Astami" today. By the way, Dinesh Adhikari is very good poet. I used to read his poems when I was in highschool and he used to publish his poem and photo(with beard,does he still keep that?).He is very creative person,isn't he?
