I have been trying to call to a mobile phone number in Nepal, is there any difference in dialing to land line or a mobile phone? One thing I noticed is that mobile number is 9 digit long compared to 7 digit land line numbers. Could someone explain, please?

Just dial 011-977-mobile number. No need to dial 1 or area codes.

you might already know this, but there has been a change in telephone digits. You have to add 4 berfore number in Kathmandu but I am not sure if this applies to cell phone. If you are calling direct you should not have a problem, but if you are using prepaid calling card, its generally harder to connect to cell phone..
