From nnsociety.org "... Mr. Montou Gurung, an aspiring young student from Nepal, has been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, and is in serious need of help. Mr. Gurung came to the US in 1998 pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems. During the course of his education, his beliefs led him to attend Platte Valley Bible College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska where he was involved in Biblical Studies. His ambitions and wishes fell short when he had to constantly struggle with the lethargy of depression and impulsiveness of mania to the point where he is unable to attend the college, unable to find a job, and at times unable to tend for himself. Today, he remains under the care of a hearty, very generous, and the most benevolent person, Mr. Terry Tomlinson, who unfortunately does not have the resources to support Mr. Gurung for long. Mr. Tomlinson has accommodated Mr. Gurung at a motel, and Nebraska Nepalese Society has forwarded some funds to Mr. Tomlinson to cover the necessary expenses. Considering that Mr. Gurung will best benefit from being in an environment where he will be well looked after, provided with his prescribed medication which greatly reduces his symptoms, and his wish to be with his family, it is the opinion of NNS to place Mr. Gurung in the hands of his family in Kathmandu, Nepal. NNS is committed to helping Mr. Gurung, and kindly requests your assistance in generating the fund to buy tickets and travel expenses for him. Your noble gesture would be greatly appreciated. Your small contribute will definitely help Mr Gurung to be back home with his family rather than staying in the motel being spiritually disable. If you wish to contribute, Please send your kind donation payable to NNSociety at following address or contact one of the NNS board member. NNSociety 5729 South 98th Plaza # 3A Omaha, NE 68127 .." |

Very sad news! Sajha folks--despite his religious bias, Montou has always offered a helping hand for those in need as was evident on sajha board whether it be raising fund for a student in need, helping fellow posters find a job, getting people the right contacts, or simply offering his warm wishes--he was always available, accessible and open to people. Lets help him in the ways we can. Wishing well to Montou Najar |

Anytime a help was needed, this guy was first to raise his hand. Some claimed it because of his religious inclination, but the cause was always commendable. Let's raise our hands now, help a friend, a wellwisher. |

Yes indeed, it would be a lot better idea to help him who's in need of, than to raise donations for somebody to help him live his so called dreams. |

Someone should create a site so that people can send the money electronically... |

My sympathies, but I think things started going downhill after God spoke to him. http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/openthread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=11354&show=all |

This just seems weird. If Montou belongs to a church of any kind, they should be willing to do somekind of fundraising for him and few dollars from one church member should be able to get him plane ticket to Nepal.Eventhough all my religious charity goes strictly to Hindu temple of my choice and a school overseas, I will make a donation for a fellow Nepali who is in need. May lord Krishna open everybody's eyes and may all Hindu study their religion before they open bible.Namaste ( I bow to God inside you). -Basheri |

Sorry to hear Montou's problem. I will be happy to offer my help to him. I don't think this is the right time to criticize his belief. He probably can't even defend himself now. Best wishes to Montou. |

Reading all the articles montou had posted in the past about his belief in Jeasus and how God spoke to him and his desire and committment to the religion, it clearly shows that he was/is associated to Christain organizations here. Now if I am right, I am wondering why can't these organizations offer to help him by giving him the best treatment possible here in the USA instead of sending an ailing montou to Nepal. I wish him a speedy recovery. |

Basheri, Gurung were never Hindus. Shouldn't Montou be free to choose whatever religion he fancies? after all, every religion is just that--a fancy. and your Hindu arrogance shows through. no wonder you give money to a temple. |

Yeah, let's help out our friend. I hope the church would help him on staying here and maybe bring his family too, otherwise being a chirstain is like a punishement for our friend here, and those church ppl should think thousands times when they preach about brotherhood and helping another christain brother. Prawin, if Gurungs were not hindus then Gurungs were christains?? Please don't make this thread another Mongolians Vs. Chhetri VS . bahun Vs Newar one. this is about helping a Nepali brother. love, Sankaa |

Quite a few times, montou steadfastly followed the fellow posters with his conviction that Jesus is the ultimate truth. There was some kind of uniqueness into his insolence, and often that irritated me, probably because I considered(and still do) myself semi-atheist.However, he was free to have his belief, and I bowed to the god within him. His problem is not incurable. I have a bipolar friend who is a teacher in a very prestigeous school abroad. I just hope he will recover soon. By his grace Biswo |
