http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ/state/#TX http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/rankindex_brief.php http://www.princetonreview.com/college/ hello aakash, i think these sites will help you to find college of your choice. if you want to do undergrad, then liberal art collges will be good choices, apply early with good SAT and TOEFL score, a lot of possibility for scholorships. if you dont have so good scores then you can try state univerities in minnesota, like mankako, st cloud, winona, bemijdi, moorhead etc. truman state at missouri is also a good choice for scholorship. university of nebraska at omaha is also good and cheap school. good luck and if you want more information just post here in sajha. |

AAKASH No offence brother but I wish and just wish if you had studied hard ( didnt mean study 24-7) in your plus 2 or ISC. and May be had takes some Tests like SATs you would not be goin through this situation. Brother since you have yet not given up the hope, i advice you to take SAT and try to score 1400 out of 1600. You will see the changes after that. Go to USEF in kamalpokhari to learn more about SAT. Try to take SAT I and SAT II. Do good on them and then come to US in descent way. |

Aakash brother When you choose the university, try to keep two things in mind: First, try to look for a university that has a very few Nepali students Second, try not to find a univerisity that is in a big city, go for small towns. When you pick a university in a small town, esp those towns that are at a long distance from big cities, it kinda shows that you are genuinely trying to go to school and not try to work illegally off campus. (It's next to impossible to get an off campus job without getting found out in small towns.) Why don't you try these universities: Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, Minnesota Minnesota State University, Mankato, Minnesota Colorado State University, Pueblo, Colorado California State University, Fresno, California One of my friends is in Fresno and he says there are less than 10 nepali students there. Colorado and Southwest Minnesota are also kinda good places. And all these universities are not so expensive. Southwest is the cheapest. All international students get to pay just in-state tuition fees there. At Mankato, they allow you to pay in-state tuition after the first semester if you get a good GPA. There is another university in Minnesota - St.Cloud, but I think the number of Nepali students already too high there. |

psychodreamer is right. A good SAT score almost guarantees you a student visa. But the score has to be impressive. |
