Hi friends,

Happy 4th of July!

A Great day for Americans, back in 1770s America (thirteen colonies at that time) declared its independence from the Royalty of England. Luckily, America had Great leaders like George Washington, founding father and Thomas Jefferson, a brilliant man, who wrote the constitution of the Unites States. With George Washington's leadership, American, who lived in thirteen colonies defeated Royal English soldiers.

Jefferson was a very smart man and wrote the constitution so carefully for the economic benefit, social benefit and all other benefits for the country. He divided the government into three branches:

1. Executive (President and his staff)
2. Judicial (supreme court)
3. Legislative (Congress)

Thus, no branches or head would have an absolute power to dictate people. Each branches have a power to check other branches of government. The government was founded solely for the people and by the people.

One thing we do need to keep in mind is that during 1700s, thirteen colonies had wealth and development minded people, who left Europe for economic and political freedom. Thirteen colonies had huge amount of gold and gold mine, a large tobacco production, which was demanded madly in Europe and producers made a huge profit out of it. Also, the thirteen colonies had acres and acres of land to grow crops and vegetable. So, from the beginning of discovery of America, America was a land of opportunity.

With all these wealth available for people, they could support themselves. They had a leader like George Washington, who recruited and motivated people to become great soldiers to fight against domestic and foriegn enemies. Thus, in this development we have a Great America today, a free country (free with certain responsibilities), a land of opportunities and it is built by migrators from other parts of the world people like you and I.

Let me correct MR. Pandey. Fourth of July is indeed a Great Day for AMERICANS of U.S. of AMERICA not for all AMERICANS. Please don't forget MEXICO and CANADA. I last checked and they are still part of AMERICAN Continent. Not to mention Latin America.

Please be specific if you are talking about history of US of AMERICA. No wonder there still are some people who think CANADA and MEXICA is one of the STATES to US, who can get more confused by your posting if they get to this great GBNC Kurakani page.

This guy really annoys me! He brings out a 9th grade essay that is over sipmplified, oft-repeated, with no insight whatsoever. My 5 year old daughter can write better than this, or I dearly hope so.
The Lone Goo Slinger Posted on 05-Jul-01 12:32 PM

Please, my dear friend, let us sling our goo at only one person at a time. It's so much cleaner that way. And speaking of your daughter, I hope you don't mind if I repost this email you sent me a while back.

******

Dear Goo,

I love my daughter very much but sometimes I just have to say CHUP LAG! Aren't you glad that you and I behave like adults now and no one ever has to say CHUP LAG to us?

Incidentally if you are free from your busy life of goo slinging I do so hope we can get together for lunch sometime and rag on other people in person.

Your friend,

[]

Excuse me. I'm going to go and practice that exercise from God now.

Robin Pandey Posted on 05-Jul-01 10:09 PM

Lone goo slinger ko sathi. First of all, don't read if something annoys you. Second of all, obviously you read since you made a comment.

Let me tell you a story: One day Christopher Columbus was telling his friends a plan to sail to India. Everyone said that he could not sail to India, it is impossible, it is too far and told him that he is a fool. Then Christopher Columbus said, let me ask you to do something so simple even my four old daughter can do and I bet you, you can't do it. His friends said, "What is that you want us to do fool?" Christopher said, "stand this egg on this table." Everyone tried, but noone could do it. Finally they gave up and told Christopher that it was impossible to stand the egg on the table. Chirstopher said, "it is so obvious even my four year can do this, now let me do it." He took the egg smashed the bottom on the table and there it was a stood up egg. It was obvious and simple to Christopher because he saw it first and sailed the impossible ocean. After he sailed and found an accidental land, which was supposed to be India, but turn out to be the land of native Indian (Ameican Indian), now it is called an America.

Last time I checked it when we say Americans we mean people from the United States. Where is the confusion? Is it for PURU or rest of the people in the United States?
