Why waste words? I think the Maoist insurgency is going to be a fight to the finish. By breaking the ceasefire the Maoists have clearly stated that they want nothing less than a republic state. Well! Well! It was foolish of them to expect to dethrone the Nepalese King through negotiations! If they want to rule Nepal through the use of terror and force, they will damn well have to fight for it. What do you think?

The report issued in February 2003 by one of the prominent human rights watch group of Nepal "INSEC" (Informal Sector Services Center or www.insec.org.np) says that by February 12 2003, 73 percent of all the deaths in the war resulted from hands of the Kathmandu establishment (Police, paramilitary and the army) and the rest by the rebels.

It is clearly noticeable and easy to see that the rebels have used the terror tactics and I strongly disapprove of such acts however if look back some 6 years back and see from whom did they learn to use such deproable acts and who made it legitimate to kill the unarmed and non-combatants ? Did they learn to such tactics by themselves ?

Why did the Kathmandu establishment and its state mechanisms quickly collapsed in the face of rag tag band of rebels. The rebels did not have the greatest strategy in the world nor did they have any superior wepons or fighting force. Well, if they can drive the Kathmandu establishment out and confine the Kathmandu establishment to major cities and towns, who knows it may not be out of their capability to dethrone the Monarch.

By the way, why do we need monarchy system ?

Under the Parlimentary System of democracy, the armed forces of the country should always be under control of the elected government and has to mobilize under the instruction of the elected government NOT THE MONARCH because the armed forces runs by the hard earned tax money of the citizens of the country. In Nepal, the monarchs have always shown that the armed forces of the country is the personal property of theirs and the present monarch is not an exception. Therefore system of monarchy is no longer viable for the country.
Nations around the world has transformed from monarchy system to republic system and still remained as a single united country and even prospered. If it is possible somewhere
else it can be posssible in Nepal as well. The rebels are not unrealistic in this regard I guess.
