Bombs rock Kathmandu
Monday, September 8, 2003 Posted: 1:28 AM EDT (0528 GMT)

KATHMANDU, Nepal (Reuters) -- Four bomb blasts rocked Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Monday, wounding at least six people, one critically, police said.

No one has claimed responsibility but police suspect Maoist rebels set off the explosions at government installations. Details were not immediately available.

Nepal is battling a Maoist revolt to replace the constitutional monarchy with a communist republic.

The rebels broke a truce last month and walked out of peace talks after the government rejected their demand for a new constitution to define the role of the king.
