Dear Bostonians, For the past several years, I have noticed that the events organized by GBNC are on Sundays. Why are festivities and different events held only on Sundays?? Is GBNC ignoring the fact that most people need to go to work/ school on a dreadful Monday morning (?) If it is for a reason then I am eager to know why and who is organizing all the events on Sundays. Who'z the target audience here? As for me I don't attend most of the events just coz I can't afford to attend on that particular day. If the decision has been based on surveys about the availability of our fellow Bostonians, then I would like to know the details of the data-the age group, student, worker, family, etc.. What do you guys think? What is the best day for people to attend social functions organzied by GBNC? I would love to hear from the members of the GBNC family. Thank you! Regards, -LoGiN

Hi Login. As a member of the GBNC Council in recent years, let me attempt to answer the question: In recent years we have started organizing SOME events on Sundays in order to allow attendance by the large and growing number of Nepalis in the Boston area who work in restaurants, and who generally have no chance of getting Fridays or Saturdays off. The GBNC community consists not only of students and professional workers, but is far more diverse. A few years ago, when most events were on Saturdays, we started hearing complaints that the events were focused upon too small a section of the Nepali community in the Boston area. So, in recent years, we have tried to host events on several different days of the week... not all on Sundays! For Sunday events, we DO try to start and end them a little early (since people may have a long way to get home, and need to be at work the next morning). If you are a student and get Saturdays and Sundays off... well then it does not take you more time to attend an event on Sunday than on Saturday, and you can ANTICIPATE and get your homework done early... right?
