As Mr. Pralhad KC was appointed as the "Honoree Representative of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce" to the US, Mr. KC has been fulfilling his responsibility by putting extra efforts to various projects, with aims, to promote and growth of businesses of Nepalese Industries in the US. His recent works include, to name few, duty free import of Nepalese garment, World Trade Organization and creation of a Sister City of Cambridge, MA. in Nepal etc. In order to help the ailing Nepalese economy, to some extent, Mr. KC has been meeting with State officials as well as various business houses and promoting Nepalese products and other potentials areas like service sector and manpower. On Mr. KC"s initiative, Mr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, and Mr. Suresh Basynet, President and General Secretary, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. KC met with the Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney and Lt. Governor, Kerry Healey in Boston. As with the Governor Romney, the prospective businesses were discussed and several proposals made with Mayors of Boston, Thomas Menino and Cambridge, Michael Sullivan. Every party showed the concern and agreed to the same goal and agenda of help improving the Nepalese economy at the local levels. The visiting President and the General Secretary presented the gifts to the Governor Romney and Mayors, as tokens of good will. The Mayor of Cambridge, Michael Sullivan, honored Mr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, by presenting the "Key of the City of Cambridge", the highest honor to dignitaries that a Mayoroffers. To discuss banking issues between Nepal and the US, they also had meeting with Alan Green, Executive Vice President of the State Street Bank. A reception was organized by Mr Pralhad and Mrs Prudence KC, to honor the guests at their residence at Bedford, MA. A well attended crowd, included Anthony Wong, President of the Asian American Organization, Mr. Donald Wong, President of the Saugus Business Association, Mr. Bhuwan Gurung, President of the Tamu Samaj, Mr. Ed Branson, Representative of Nepal Peace Corp, Mr. Alan Green, Exec. Vice Presidents of State Street Bank and Nepalese of the local area. Once again, Mrs. KC and her crew exhibited the outstanding culinary skills with authentic and delicious Nepali cuisine. As Mr. KC received official recognition from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as the Honorary Representative of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce to the US, on behalf of the Nepalese Community, let's congratulate and wish him, accomplish better results in his endeavors in further promotion and growth of the Nepalese businesses in the US and help strengthen the Nepalese economy.
