News from Hindustan Times Nepal king's son Paras injured in car accident AFP Kathmandu, July 6 PRINCE PARAS, son of Nepal's new King Gyanendra, was injured in a car accident late yesterday, local press reports said. The car Paras was driving hit the walls of his house by accident and he was injured, the Nepali-language daily the Himalaya Times said, quoting highly placed sources. The prince was receiving treatment at the Birendra Military Hospital, the newspaper added. The report has not been confirmed either by the palace or the home ministry. Paras is the only son of Gyanendra, who succeeded king Dipendra last month after 10 members of the royal family were slain, allegedly by late crown prince Dipendra. Paras, widely disliked in Nepal, has so far not been proclaimed crown prince. Paras was widely accused of killing a popular singer in a hit-and-run accident in front of the royal palace last winter, but he allegedly made someone else take the blame.
