If he does, and I know he will, then he will be the first Nepali to compete in slalom event. He is asking for some financial support from his friends and family. For this he has started selling raffle tickets. If you can, please follow the second link and buy a raffle ticket, if not, just give a few words of encourgement to let him know that Nepal and nepali is with him on this Journey. FYI to all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey all, How is everybody doing? Been a while I haven't talk to some of you. I'm doing fine. Have had my ups and downs like everyone but, I'm alright. I have a dream, goal, quest. It is the 2006 Winter Olympic in Italy and I need your help to get there. I know I'll get there but I'd like to get there with an FIS points of less then 200. FIS (Federation Of International Ski) is the governing body that keeps record of all registered racers and gives out FIS points to all on all races. The best in the world would get a 'zero' and the higher the number the further down you are in ranking. I have 500+ points that I'd like to bring down in the next few years. FIS also sets standards on equipment which keeps changing every few seasons. Just so happens both my new Giant Slalom and Slalom skies are going to be illegal for racing coming season. I'll have to get new ones that will meet their standard.. Anyway, to get my FIS points down under 200 in the next few years, I'll be training hard, spending a lot of time out in the cold, lots of traveling to and from racing/training(VT, CO, UT, PA, NY), summer ski camps(OR), new equipments, replace broken poles, etc.. . . which, I figured, will cost me $10,000 - $15,000. Phew. . . believe me I don't have that kind of money. and I do have to thank Bob and Fred (both certified race coaches) for not charging me for their one on one training every Saturday and Sunday. To come up with some of this money (at least get legal racing skies for the coming season) I'm working on some fundraising ideas. I'm raffling off my 2003 World Cup Custom skies among friends and family. For those not interested in skies you will get 10% of the amount we raise with this raffle up to $500. I hope you will buy a few tickets and support my quest and help me out a bit. You can visit http://www.naoo.org/ski/raffel.asp and get more info on the raffle. Hope you guys didn't mind me taking some of your time. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon. Pramod |
