Who is the main person (CEO ? chairman? ex,like alan greenspan) of the Central bank of Nepal? Does anyone have any information on the backgroud of the chairman or websites I can find information, such as resume, credentials, and past list of chairpersons etc. Thank you in advance. |

Governor ho? is that what they call the Chairman of the Central Bank! I did see this site earlier, but thought it must be a mistake! (like raja ko photo will be on the police website, but you know raja is raja, and not police, like that i thought they had Rawal;s photo there b/c he was governor of Kathmandu or Bagmati Anchal!!) A little odd but whats in a title anyways, hoina? thanks salakjith. |

Ruby, So far I know, the person holding similar position as Sir Alan Greenspan is Dr. Tilak Rawal. He was appointed by Sher Bahadur's premiership and Mr Mahesh Acharya had resigned because of controversy surrounding his appointemnt. He holds a Doctoral degree in economics from some univ in Bangaladesh. He worked for long at APROSC. He also hold GMship in NRB and ADB/N. The other Governers of Nepal Rastra Bank were: 1. Mr. Deependra Purush Dhakal (who was a tourism ministry's secretary one time). 2. Dr. Bhes Bahadur Thapa, US trained economist and former ambassadors to USA/India .. 3. Dr. Yadav Prasad Pant, Panchayat era finance minister (pls verify for his governership ok) 4. Ganesh Bahadur Thapa But we can't compare our governors with US Fed Reserve Bank's Greenspan. Indeed he is the global finance leader,and is powerful man in the world after the American President. If Greenspan give a hint of interest rate fluctuation by a quarter pt, trillions of dollars of finanancial transaction occur simultaneously in the world.
