ome guy wrote his view about Nepal. Never seen anything so negative written about Nepal by a foreigner......" Saroj.

So, what's so wrong with being a "CK Lal wannabe" and or being offended by this highly inflammatory article. Nothing! Speaking for myself, I was not offended by the article because it was written for reaction, "just for the heck of it!" Any journalist who uses derision and/or insults has no intention to inform but rather to incite. Resorting to sensationalism with the use of trite street terminologies, is just one way of directing attention to the tone and not so much to the content of the article. The use of such language is an age old trick to re-instate that the "symbol" (words) IS the thing symbolized. Just a verbal play. You guys wanna cheap thrill, a quick fix in the name of journalism...you got it! What struck me as funny was, he ends his political "commentary" with a deep-rooted hatred for those "preppy", "hippy", "artsy-fartsy" gals who may have given him nightmares during his waking hours and fueled his fantasies during his sleep. Perhaps, many men can sympathize with him and appreciate his humour there!!!!!!!!

Now, change the scenario:

Let it be a Nepali who wrote that article. Ofcourse ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOOSE! He/she will not be a satirist, nor will the article be hilarious. He/she wil just be another *MF* JERK!!!! Well, in this case a Motherland. Let a Nepali even dare to express an educated opinion against the king, he/she is called a Maoist/sympathizer; call attention to the ailments of the system, he/she is an India-sympathizer; call attention to the "state of the state" and he/she is insulted as an ignorant "NRN" (overlooking the fact that the Nepali has/had lived in Nepal for his entire life). "Why don't you f*king come back to Nepal and fix the country!!!!!!!". Helloooooooooo, we were mildly commenting that our educated brothers and sisters are NOT able to find a job!!! And ya, my Neighbor was bombed to smithereens; his widow is 19 years old.

So, ya, people are offended when an ignoramous fed on regular news spices it up with the masala of inflammatory language! Strip away the insults, what is he saying, NOTHING NEW!!!!! So, whats there to be impressed by... his derogatory language IN PRINT, wow!!!!

What impresses me is, he STILL remembers those gals with hatred!!!

The point is not whether the article said anything novel or not, but whether it should be deemed offensive when incendiary tone is his writing-style. If you browse through some of his other articles, you'll come across articles equally as mocking as this one. Al Franken wrote a book called, "Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot", which supposedly is an irony, and as Franken basically put it, he's just following in the footsteps of Rush Limbaugh, so to speak. In this age of political correctness, where there is no room for making an error lest you get slammed for insensitivity, it is quite refreshing that mavericks are out there who don't care to follow "social norms" to get their opinions out.

So, here is another aticle Brecher wrote that you might find offensive, titled, "Fag vs Fag: the India-Pakistan Phoney War"

http://exile.ru/142/142060003.html

"India has about 200 nukes, so they could wipe out Pakistan. Over. Land of the Pure becomes Land Where There is No Land, Just Smoked Glass. But they won't, because they're too chickenshit."

The image he gives is someone who loves to see burn. But that's not really his true intentions. Not everybody knows about crises in Nepal, India, etc, and yes, if people can learn something through straight talk, then what's the problem with it? I don't see any.

However, being truthful shouldn't come with the label unpatriotic or traitor. That's just my opinion.

"Perhaps, many men can sympathize with him and appreciate his humour there!!!!!!!!"

Do I sense a "beep rooted hatred", if I may, for a normal beer-loving, tight-jeans-on-nice-booty-wantin', freaks (your artsy-fartsy, hippy type) hatin', average Joe?
Ofcourse, in the same categorey falls our very own disputed author.
Although,I personally do not claim to fall into that categorey.......
I feel the above pasted remark not any different than the remarks made about the 'hippy gals' by the author.

but i dont know...........
