Warning On Nepal Travel

A new warning for New Zealanders thinking of heading to a popular destination for backpackers and mountaineers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against all tourist and non-essential travel to Nepal.
It says the security situation has deteriorated following the end of a ceasefire with Maoist rebels.
Foreign Affairs says New Zealanders should avoid crowds and large public gatherings, because of fears of terrorist attacks.
The ministry says the rebels are present in all Nepalese districts, and the potential for further violence remains high.
