It wasn't inflammatory and certainly not incendiary for the most part. It was an exercise and all you good folks should be thanked!
It served to compound the notion about forum-addicts and one or more of their failings as itemized:

a) low self-esteem
b) feelings of inadequacy
c) frequent subjection to disapprovals from others
d) excess vanity
e) coerced esteem
f) social anxiety
g) depressogenic cognitive style
h) social unacceptability in one form or other (maladaptation)
i) decadency
j) none of the above

mitigated by their upbringings ofcourse.

I am surprised San did not pull the plug on the post unlike those days of Sajha's infancy. Speaks of Sajha's evolving spirit when it didn't cave in to vociferous demands by some feebleminded hoosier attempting to cash in on his friendship with the site owner to remove the post.
By the way, someone do that thesaurus-lugging, 15 sentences/15 minutes, cliche-dangling, old geezer a favor and beat into that balding skull the fact that his charlatanry shows stark before it dawns upon him one of these days and resolves to do himself harm! An Intellect?? HA!
Here's how Merriam Webster defines the word:
1 a : the power of knowing as distinguished from the power to feel and to will : the capacity for knowledge b : the capacity for rational or intelligent thought especially when highly developed

"The world, it seems, is people by sensitive souls, too weak to be confronted by strong opinions, controversial statements and provocative arguments. As a result we all have to live our lives as if in a church service - all hushed tones and reverential attitudes" Rightly said .

Milkman..this board certainly needs more people like you, a person with the boldness to point out the naked emperor. Though your comments were uncalled for, it nevertheless was an honest opinion, something which most of the so called "dherai buddhima" sajha members would only think and chuckle behind the back..but never dare to spit out less they hurt the kid..as it is ..the usual hypocrites..

The intensity with which oys_chill's friends and families pounched on you for your light humored, honest opinion was certainly a restriction on free speech. Why do all of Bush's caricatured cartoon has his ear inflated? you guys should be condemning the artist too.I am sure Oys_chill expected some remark when he posted his picture, or can he in his full honesty tell me he didn't ?? A big ear is a big ear is a big ear..so what ?? Nobody here has the perfect chiseled structure of a greek god. I have some imperfection in my feature too, and I take it completely as it is.. By creating the uproar about the comment you guys in some way or another accepted the fact !! If you had thought otherwise you would just have ignored the post, or simply replied with a "No , it doesn't look big", so if you accept the fact then why the knee-jerk reaction to Milkman's comment.

You can disagree with Milkman's views as reactionary, irrational or just plain wrong. But to deem it 'offensive' is to put it beyond the bounds of rational debate. Offensiveness is an affront to an entrenched tradition, one's emotional sensibilities that cannot be erased by reasoned argument. Censoring ""offensive"" views or ideas will not make them go away. It is simply a means of abrogating our responsibility for dealing with them

***Oys_chill....you know better then anybody that you are a good looking guy so nobody needs to defend you..you are not a kid that everybody has to shield you from the real world..you are a grown man..you know your potential..you know what you can do...My only problem is with the self proclaimed defender of morality and decency (which obvioucly is measured by their own yardstick)

You know you're Nepali when you can easily attribute your rude behaviour to a psychology experiment on the mass.

Milkman,
If this was an "exercise" as you put it, then it was certainly a strenuous one! :) Aba bholi dekhi gym jana thalnu parla jasto chha...

On a more serious note:
You have debriefed us on the intent behind your "exercise"; now please inform us why this need to study forum addicts in particular interested you so much. What is your research question? And what were the findings/implications for your research and the domain/discipline in general? It interests me as we maybe sharing a fence between us...:) As "subjects" in your carefully crafted experiment, we are entitled to know more, don't you think??

Inquisitively,

Saroj,
How are you doing in Amsterdam? I was there this summer for a visit. Lovely place....and them canals and windmills...breathtakingly beautiful. Hope you're enjoying yourself there!
Missed the tulip gardens though! :(

Oh God, Simplegal, his "exercise" pretext is only to disparage forum "addicts", albeit with that soft fluffy cushion for cover, so as to make goats out of credulous folks just like yourself. Anywho, when someone starts out with a diss thread, and you have sycophants like enigma_too searching for any dissension to assent with the "underdog", then it is quite simple to figure out the motive of the rabblerouser: that's right folks, to taunt for fun and enjoy the unstable atmosphere created therefrom. Ergo, you have the inciter staying aloof in his hideout, always calculating, waiting for his opportunity, like a tiger waiting for it's best chance to cripple the prey--although the flamer l is much more pusillanimous-- and lo and presto! he emerges again to rekindle the flame. This is the quintessential modus operandi of the internet troll; he feeds on contempt, anger, hatred, looks for ways to project his own insecurities on someone else, like our troll in question has done by his asinine message that reek of malice and nothing more, and always has his fingers pointed at someone, almost in an arthritical pose. But in the end his demeanor and gesticulations allude to his haunted mien looking for an amicable atmosphere, where he can spew his venom.
So, ignoring the troll is the best bet.

rmb, could not agree more with you. You said it all. Ignoring this troll would be the best bet. I had an inkling that Milkman and Enigma_too, is the same person. After reading this disparaging thread, and knowing the real intentions from the previous one; with a few speculations that are inherent in this thread so obviously, I am convinced it's the same person. I think we have the QED Theory proven now:) hehehehe.
