Your poem is a very accurate portrayal of Ktm today! I went to Nepal in 2001 after being in the US for 7 years. And the scenes you describe are what greeted my eyes.....and yes, like you, I felt Naulo in my own motherland!

Marich, your poem is a good description of almost all Nepali who returns home after spending several years in a foreign land. Though it is for Ktm people, but I can remember my old days in Jhapa and the days I was there recently. It has been almost eleven years that I left Jhapa. First was in Delhi for seven years and then in USA since last four years.
Last time I was in Jhapa, I heard few young guys talking - "yo hijo ko keto khub phurki daincha, yaslai thik parnu parla..!!!" These are the words that I hear in my own motherland. Rikshaw-walas, the famous chatpattewalas and ghupchup walas, everyones new for me. New faces at Sangam Chowk, Hospital Mode, Kirat Colony, almost everywhere. Makes me a foreigner in my own birthplace, my Jhapa, my Nepal.....

Excellent piece.
I haven't gone back since I came here 2 years back. Yet I find out as much as possible about my tole by talking with my family and friends back home.
Even by listening and imagining from stories and poems such as yours I already feel nostalgic. Alas, that path that led to my home has changed. Yes, who would know me now. Not even the road!
Today I went to the town where I graduated in May this year. Already I felt nostalgic about that place. I can imagine how I will feel when I see Nepal again.
Thank you for this wonderful writing.

i also feel the same way when i return back after satying in us but when i get used to it ,its nothing to me again my mother land accept me,differently but they help me to go through that road,that crazy life .........
so guys some time if u can go to ur mother land ,where u born, where u take a first time....
so this time,after i am through with my work here i am defenately go back to my home, my mother land nepal, i am missing nepal,what ever the situation i am going to go back, thats my mother land ,thats my home......wher i born, wher i took a first step, where i speak first word................
