The Australia prolific opener Matthew Hayden broke the 10 year old Lara held record of a 375 to reach an awesome innings of 380. It was truely a classy knock by the lefty who not so long ago before he toured India was not regarded as the best. Hehas proven to be an elegant opener in the strong Aussie line up.
Congratulation to Matthew Hayden....

Though its one of the most amazing feats in cricket, I was little apalled that it had to be another australian cricketer. They are so far ahead of rest of the world. Their domination in the last 7 or so years is simply unimaginable. I hope likes of paks, windies, and nz will bridge the gap sooner than later. N then he scored against zimbabwe, india sanga hanya bhe, ma ni celebrate garthen....anyways..congratulations hayden. my die hard west indies fan must be shattered..sorry for him too!

btw, how u krishna bru ? :) long time hai!

Oys, apologize for the late reply. Doing pretty good bro, just a little busy with college so couldn't keep in touch. K garne, be in Sajha, you loose your GPA. Right now GPA is a little more important to me. :)

Anyways, I agree with you that I am not at all surprised by the Aussie batsman achieving the feat. They have dominated cricket so much in this decade that its hard to believe they even lost a match. They are the world champions, they win most of the series overseas, opponents dont even have to sneak a chance of a match win at their turf, they are the best in the business right now.

Its the mixture of youth and veterans that make this Aussie line up so strong. They got the best, if not the best, bowler in McGrath, they have one of the most prolific openers in Matt Hayden, Ponting is lethal, and so are the others. They field well, they bowl, well and they bat well. They are exciting to watch.

On other note, It was a feast at the Carribeans when Lara broke the record of Sir Gary Sobers, an amazing 8 hour innings of 375. I could see people running all over the ground, picking up Lara, celebrating as if it was their greatest festival. Not so much emotion when an Aussie batsman reached the feat thesedays. One can understand why though. It has been a complete domination of world class cricket by the Australians, who know how to win and this is important to any side in cricket.

Well, we'll see who decreases the gap, but I hope it be Pakistan. They have brought some exciting new youngsters and Miandad knows how to fully use them. If any side can defeat Australia right now, it has to be the unpredictable Pakistan. After the sacking of Pollock, South Africa doesn't stand much of a chance like they use to before, but they still have the line up. India, couldn't tell you much if that was in the Indian wickets. West Indies are coming up strong at the right time, and after a year or two, I am sure they will be a strong contender. Chances are blim for the Kiwis right now, although they played pretty good in drawing the recent test in India. We'll have to see how they perform in the upcoming test. Nathan Astle kept them alive this time. But they are definitely missing the service of Cairns.

I have always hate the Aussies.. always they are like US in the world of cricket. too dominant. can't stand them.. can't see them win a single game. Hate how Mcgrath bowls.hate his accuracy... hate the speed of brett lee... hate the captaincy of ponting... hate the batting order and the all rounder michael bevan.. they should let someone else win.. it's like they are monopolizing the game of cricket...

Poor SA..i still consider them the best team ever. even after they lost the best captain cricket ever had to match fixing and then to the Plane crash... and they sacked Pollock now how was doing pretty well.. but they still got Gary Kirsten, jacques kallis and others.. they will hold on there for quite some time.. and i am glad to see some colored faces in their team...GO SA GO..

Haven't been following cricket a lot these days.. so dont know wat matches are giong on..but congratulations of hayden for smacking that 380.. he just knows how to control that bat and hit where it matters..

Mathew's inning was a marvalous one (following various comments on it). Cricket seems to have foudn a wide gap atleast between the top and the second, in the lower rank there is neck to neck race. Look how Bangladesh has improved , let us wait and see how they fare against Englishmen.
Nepal have nice opportunity to leave a mark, and atleast looking back at the performance of the young guns (victory of RNQAC team over SL-airline) is pretty encouraging. The game needs to find its root in Nepal and every one of us has a role to play and contribution to make. Let us hope we get to be featuring in the next world cup in the carribian.
Well as regarding the message in the thread Mathew's inning adds one more record waiting to be broken, there will be someone and the mere record itself will create some genuis to topple it. Till then let us accept the supremacy of an Australian and the team itself in dominating the world of cricket as if it was their "bau ko pewa".
