Dearest G_Iji,

Answer 1. In this youth culture, generation Yers face so much choices that they do not know what to do with it. It seems that much choices allows them to remain youthful forever by botoxing their faces and then it is obvious that they have failed to even laugh and show natural facial expressions. It is also their world that they grew with technology and they will remain uncomfortable without SMS and 3Gs. They must have connection with receiving and sending communication signals any where and any time.

Answer 2. Sustainability in terms of economical and social advancement without compromising further environmenatl degradation be it in Nepal or any where in this planet. Because, we also owe a duty for the future generation to see the wonders of this earth as recommended and defined in the 1992 World Summit for the Environment.

Answer 3. Well, through globalisation the World is coping American Youth Culture and is getting ugly in terms of homogenisation that to me is all is being clones of America. I like indiviual cultures to integrate that is to have synergies with the best of their cultures with that of american culture. Thus, through diversity we can celebrate our unique human cultures ala live and let live principle. Because, to be Nepalese is an unique collective experience and nobody should take that from us, whether we are in Timbucktoo or in Ice station Zebra in the Artic Circle. Being Nepalese means that we are what we are as Hindus/Buddhists dwelling under the shadows of Sagarmatha, and we love our unique songs, dances and typical regional cusines. for example, as tharus we can eat mud cooked grain rats or for that matter being Newars we can eat raw Buffalo meat as kachilla and much more...who can do that in this world and this is our unique selling proposition.

Answer 4. The dominant race or the minorities who hold power always gate keep to control the less unfortunates. They thus exclude all not close to their own family members or their sychophants. Thus, the form of exclusion is through racialising, stigmatising, marginalising and sexualising. when all these borders are removed then one human humanises the less fortunate and then the ideal day may have arrived when all things are perhaps "all inclusive of the environment."

Answer 5. Everyone should indeed get free education in theory so that all development retardation could be halted in terms of poverty eradication, mental health, social malaise and much more. The questions remains who is going to get the education and who can afford to pay for it.

I hope this ad hoc heuristic reply will assist you.

To add more in Q1, finding suitable life partner is even more challenging to the youths of these days than pet puja itself.

-because its completely scientific and universal law of nature, do good leave wrong. This is not sectarian and communal, wise of any community and society can accept this.

-because I wanna see the coming generation happy and peaceful. This is one and only one universal way to get happiness.

-because I wanna see the world as a better place where love and harmony prevails around. I know the whole population can not do this, but I wish at least significant number of people&.

3) What characterstics of your ethnic culture do u w ish the rest of the world have a better understanding of and better appreciation for? And why?

Aforementioned characteristic. The happiest part of this is its not only the gift of our culture, but developed in almost all ethnic cultures. This is common culture of the world. For wiser people, the gift of our culture is concentration of mind. Our ansisters developed hundreds of methods to concentrated wild mind. I want best and easiest methods be accepted by the world because if you have mastery over the mind, it will be easy to abstain from aforementioned five wrong deeds. Moreover, for the wisest people of the world, I want the method of purification of mind to be passed. This is one and only one method to eradicate mental impurities and sole gift of the Buddhas. So method of concentration and purification of mind will be unique gift to the world from our culture, it will take time for these precise gems to be recognized by the world.

Why?
Because of almost similar reasons I mentioned in the answer of second question.

4) Today, a lot of emphasis is being placed on an "All inclusive environment". What is ur definition of an "all inclusive environment"?

I am not sure about this answer because whether the phrase all inclusive environments has some special definition. If I literally read the phrase, it seems, participating the entire world, same as Science and Technology, all the scientists of entire world works as a team. No wrong competition, focused on their own research to give something to mankind. Tomorrow same will be done with the least developed branch of science ie mental science. I am pretty sure about that, eventually scientists will adapt the way of Buddhas teaching because there can never be two facts in science.

5) In today's society, is there ample emphasis placed on the importance of education? Why or why not?

What do you say education, to take certificates of big degrees, to master some craft, or to be able to contribute to mankind?

German and Aryan are considered to be from same origin. German loves Sanskrit language and you will find good number of German scholars who understand this language. One of the German scholars went to India and spoke in Sanskrit; to his surprise nobody understood it. Then he said these unfortunate Indians reads for examination to get better grades for better jobs. I found true for all most all Nepalese students. I get surprised when I see the same system in USA which was out of my imagination. The difference is there are very few people who want to study for knowledge in Nepal compare to USA, but if you compare the students who want to study for knowledge in USA with total US students, they are very few. I guess the ratio will be similar in all over the world.

In Nepal most of the parent wants their son to be doctor or engineer so that he can earn money and reputation easily, they give a lot of emphasis to the education of their kids for such purpose. Parents in USA wants their children to go to Harvard law School or MIT engineering school; Peoples are similar whether in Nepal or in USA, they want easy going life and reputation, money for cozy life. Even if all the government are giving importance to quality education, gifted students will be only few, they will show up anyhow, no matter where they born. US recognizes them and give them ground to flourish, this is why many brainy people seems to be in USA. But most of the educated population will end up for better opportunities and easy livelihood.

For me education should be modeled such a way that it will be able to give the meaning of life. Each individual should be encouraged to understand oneself so that one will be able to see ones dark as well as bright aspects, which provides opportunity to him/her to set light in dark aspect and make whole life bright. An education which will be learned as Zen monks learn for their 7 days retreat, individual learning among the many, individual achievements, individual goal and no competition with fellow learners. I have dreamed for such education for the entire global village which will produce good people not only good scientists, good businessmen, good artists, good lawyers, good economist, good engineers, good doctors&&&..

Dear G_I,
Your questions are great! I am trying to answer these questions as per my capacity. I love long explanation of any matter so that it will be easily understandable for many people. This technique I adapted from Buddha, please forgive me for my comprehensive answers. If you have read my threads, you will find I am saying the same truth again and again, presenting differently. Its not my art, its the fact, the root of many problems is the same and I catch the root.
1) What do you believe is the biggest challenge that faces today's youth?

The biggest challenge that faces todays youth is confusion. Confusion is not only for youth but for everyone. This is not a problem of this time only, rather of all the times. But this time, because of very fast growing scientific technology, people do not have time to realize that they are confused; this is the extreme state of confusion. People dont know where they are heading to? What they are for? What is the meaning of life? Why they are doing what they are doing? Is there something more important than that they think important? Many such questions are unanswered at all the time in human history. People are confused and dont have any destination. Some of them are doing random walk and some of them are involving in rate race of wealth and prestige, heedless of the fact that sooner or later they gonna turn into ash and smoke. Confused!

You asked question for todays youth, todays youth have a lot many toys to play with. They have a lot many options to involve in, they have a lot many choices. Everything being a lot, their mind is full of information and almost saturated. The saturated mind is inefficient to tackle the adverse situations and drives person crazy. We dont have switch to off the mind, it keeps working 7 days a week, 24 hours. There are some ways to give rest to the mind but they are limited within handful of people. Many schools in the west has counselors to tackle the problems of the students, this provides a temporary passage but not a permanent solution.

In brief, the biggest challenge for todays youth is keep their mind in order and balanced. Many youth do drugs to be carefree from their mental activities. During they are drugged, they can not notice the mental activities which provides temporary relief. There are too much activities going on in minds, peace of mind or rest of mind is great challenge for youth as well as adults.

2) One factor to becoming effective is to live based on principles & values. What values & principles do u wish to see get passed on to generations to come? Why?

There are five universal fundamental principles, 1. Not to kill
2. Not to steal
3. No to have sexual misconduct
4. Not to lie
5. Not to be intoxicated

These are universal because, no one who is wise can reject these. These provides peace of mind no matter whosoever follows, no matter from which religion, which country, which family and which ethnic group. These are universal in organized religions also because these are the foundation of every major religion of the world. These five are called Pnacha Sila (five precepts) in Buddhas teaching. These lies within Ten Commandments of Judaism and Christianity, these are known as Anubarta in Jainism and Yem Niyam in Hinduism. Islam also contains these principles within Koran.

These are the universal values and fundamental principles.

I wish to see these principles to pass to the generation to come, -because, I have realized peace of mind is most important thing to achieve. It is actually primary need. Most of the people of the world do not have peace of mind, there is something wrong with us, but we can not realize what the wrong is, as if we dont realize we are rotating with earth. We are ill, but we dont realize that we are ill because all most all people around us are ill and we have no right reference. All things are relative in this universegreat discovery of Einstein.
