Your recent pieces on Xian, Qi Gong, and memoirs of Shanghai are remarkable. I loved them. There are few mistakes on your memoirs though. Memoirs of Waiguo should be said memoirs of waiguoren, and also,I wonder if Shanghai is as filthy, crowded and polluted as New Delhi. My observation is Shanghai is very much better managed than New Delhi. Also, Normal school is not merely a Chinese translation of Shifan Daxue, since Normal school is an English word.(see www.dictionary.com for that!) I am waiting for your next part of the article. Xian journey is also remarkable. Is it true that the site is now inaccessible to visitors? Also, I forgot the name of the place where the site is located?(Sth tong..??, away from city proper!)

Biswo XianSheng, Dui aa! (you are right). Its supposed to be wai-guo ren, instead of wai guo. But that was my original title of that essay, and it was written almost three years ago, when my chinese was limited to hi/hello and Chi-fan-le-you-mei-you. However, I am glad that you could read it and make me aware of that. I don't remember the name of that place where the vaults are, but its not very far from the city. Once you pass the Bon Po village, you are there. Again, thanks for your words. Will be posting more on China. Trai-LuKai

Contd.. I think , Shanghai is as polluted as New Delhi in terms of the crowd, and the new ghettos emerging everywhere. Plus, yoiu cna't beat the noise of nanjing lu! Its same as delhi, but, I agree that Shanghai is more managed than New Delhi. I don't think the site for bing-ma-yong is closed. But, I am not sure. But, if it is, then there's probably some more excavation/restoration going on. Trailokya

Hi Trailokya, Thanks for the interesting stuff. A lot of it is new to me. The only exposure I have had to Chinese culture ( not even mainland China)is through some of my room mates and maybe some occasional reading here and there. Your articles sparked some interest in me...am expecting more stuff. Keep posting. When you use chinese words ( Mandarin is it ?) can you please write the Nepalese or English translation next to it ? my chinese is limited to 3 words - Ni hau ma ? thanks once again!

Yes, Yarlow. Beijing Olympic, 2008. Wait for decision to come out of Moscow this Friday. How competitors messed up their own chance? Toronto Mayor : Before going to Africa to court for votes, he remarked he feared being put in the hot boiling pot while natives danced around him! Paris organizer: currently being probed for corruption and money laundering. Osaka/Istanbul: IOC terms them inferior to the three cities mentioned above. This is finally a time for the great dream of Chinese. I know that they were too bitterly disappointed when they lost last time. This decision will also help bring slow change in China's human right situation.

Hi all, (dajia Hao) Thank you all for your encouraging me to post stuffs on China (and also thanks for reading my postings). To majari ji, I am really sorry about not providing with the nepali/english words in my essays. Thank yoiu very much for pointing that out. I'll definately take care of that next time. To yarlowji, I think Beijing will get the Olympic Bid. They have to get it, because, they have been wanting to host the Olympic for a long time now. I sincerely believe that sports and politics are two very different un-related topics. Trailokya

Just a question: Have anyone read Manjari, by Daulat Bikram Bista? A great novel, I have heard.
