Two reasons on why you shouldn't watch KILL BILL vol 1.!

First Reason:
If you need to call 911 while watching gore, maim, blood spurting out like fire hose, extra dose of violence in the movies, you might not consider watchin' this movie. (Use of cellphone is not allowed in the theater ;)). You might senti-flat (as Deep bro would say "hat-fail bhey ra") right after BILL drew first bullet on bride's head.
However, this could be a perfect date movie eh.. there are plenty of scenes where your beautiful date might jump from the seat to your lap (Even background music and sharp and crispy sound editing could do the trick...!) -- Here goes "dhamaka", and there she is, deeply engrossed in the movie, squeezing your hand like mop bucket. hmmm...
For ladies, make sure your perfect date doesn't jump on your lap when he hears first dhamaka.. eheh!!!

Second Reason:
If you still think the story of the movie makes the movie, then don't waste your money... You will be deeply disappointed... eh.. you have to wait till february for the other half of the movie (Kill Bill Vol 2), and the story line is thinner than ummm the costume of playboy playmates. (eh.. couldn't think of better example)... But the beauty of the movie is of course the presentation, photography, awesome soundtrack, smashing sound effects, action sequences, the developement of the characters (the use of animation to develope Lucy Lui's character), humor (Remember Tarantino's Pulp Fiction?) eh..
Talkin' about photography, who would have imagined a bloody action in a heavenly setting (the last fight). Bright night, dark blue sky as a back ground, beautiful japanese garden, snow and snow flakes, samurai swords and two beautiful ladies.. eheh.. !!!

Anyway, time to run... ehhh.. baaki ooohi ho!!

BTW, KILL BILL vol 1 is Quentin Tarantino's fouth venture. Who is Quentin Tarantino? eh.. He made "Reservoirs Dogs", "Pulp Fiction", and "Jackie Brown".... rings a bell???
No?
Well he is considered as one of the most talented movie makers of today...
still no?
Okay you should either watch this movie, or not.. ;)

Blood ra gore ta Tarantino ko signature hoina ra?

I don't really like movies with too much blood and gore but surprisingly i liked reservoir dogs (and them indians had to spoil it all by turning into a kaante .. a real thorn in you know where while u watch the movie ..Sanjay Dutt being the only saving grace) and pulp fiction. But I am not rushing to the theaters for Kill Bill. I am going to wait. Till Vol.1 + Vol.2 both come out on DVD.

I will go for Runaway Jury this weekend and there is no way I am going to miss Scary Movie 3 next weekend. Let's see what happens to this Scary Movie sequel in the absence of Wayans.

Other movies I am waiting for : Matrix Revolutions, Radio (Cuba Gooding Jr) and The Return of the King .... any other suggestions???

I watched Kill Bill-I this week. First I liked it, but now, somehow I feel nothing about this movie. It is no where near Reservoir Dogs, and it is definitely not anywhere near Pulp Fiction. It has some cliched portrait of eastern martial tactics,in fact, so platitudinous are depictions that you find stereotypes everywhere:from Texas cop to Japanese shop-assistant, and it is more fantasy than the quasi-reality that Qarantino once was superb in portraying.Kill Bill-I is not a bad movie, but it is not a great movie either.

I am going to watch Mystic River this week, if possible. I have heard this is a sure thing for this year's Oscar.

I don't agree with Biswo at all. I am not going to judge the movie completely till the final installment is out, but let's take the movie for what it is: a tribute to Japanese martial arts movies of the 70's. Basically speaking, Kill Bill is Japanimation(anime) brought to life, as exemplified by blood gushing out like a geyser and limbs and body parts strewn everywhere. The most violent movie of our time(and I am not exaggerating when I say so) also empowers women. And it is a pardoy. Unless the one we are talking about is a superhuman, he/she cannot kill 88 trained assassins like they were mere fleas on one's body that can only be squeezed and gotten rid of. Cliche is what makes this movie what it is. Parodies abuse cliches, don't they?

If you've watched Ninja Scroll, or any other violent animes, you know what I mean by that.

Angel,

I respect your opinion, but I think you ended up supporting my views: that the film is not really an original, it has its provenance elsewhere, and so not a classic original noir like Pulp Fiction.

Biswo,

Lets forget Pulp fiction for a moment, shall we?
Pulp Fiction is a classic -- no doubt about that! (I read it somewhere that Pulp fiction was made in editing table. Tarantino shoot too much extra footage and he sat on the editing table and played with it frame by frame until the classic was born.) I don't have any doubt either that Tarantino is capable of makin' another Pulp Fiction if he wants to. When all the movie makers are busy running after sequels, I am sure that if Tarantino ever decides to make Pulp Fiction 2, it will be super hit. However I personally think he shouldn't make another Pulp fiction, I don't want to see his talent stuck on his previous movies.

About Kill Bill, Everything about the movie is presentation... and if you compare KB with any other but Tarantino's movies, you will know what I am talkin' about... Everybody knows the movie is a tribute to 70's Bruce Lee and Asian Martial arts movies. If you remember the openin' sequence of the movie, the format of the movie is like the 70's movie (the captioning and everything looks like 70's martial art movies -- there were even some of the quick-zoom-in-to-the-eyes shot)... and the format changes to black and white captioning... and pitch black, and then blood coverd face of Uma Thurman in black and white-- the single shot... BILL doing all the talkin', wipin blood from the face of the bride, all you see is bride! -- and then one loud bang! -- and the screen goes totally black... and the song by Nancy Sinatra starts playin' in the back ground..

"I was five and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He'd always win the fight
bang! bang!! He shot me down
bang! bang!! I hit the ground
bang! bang!! that aweful sound
bang! bang!! my baby shot me down"....

and the caption starts to flow on the screen... black and white... until you see an anguished, faded profile of the bride.
ooh... who would have imagined such an awesome sequence than Tarantino!!
