Merci, mes amis :) Translation: Me too! I speak French a little bit. But I have never visited France. I am in the US right now and its been a long time since I last got to practice my french. So, I've lost a lot of it. But you are really lucky to be able to live in Switzerland and learn the language. You should take advantage of this opportunity. Thank you, my friends :)

Lalupate I agree... french movies are the best so are the older generation singers. Edith Piaf, Cabrel..etc. Others: French was just something I had to pick up ;). Picked it up..am dropping it along the way :) as we're becoming more americanized. Discovered the whole world dreams of haute couture like Chanel, Yves St. Laurent, Lancome, etc...and all of France is in love with American Jeans, Revlon etc.. ;) in short anything American except the people. At least the Americans are open about their love/hate relationship - anything with a french name is supposed to be sophisticated!! :) Donc Soleil, on parle anglais souvent n'est ce pas?? :)

J'ais apris aussi, mais j'ais oublie beacoup. Tender Rose, it does not hurt to learn a new language. Yes, take the opportunity. Meanwhile, if you find Geneva boring, why don't you get a "half-price" train pass and then some train day passes and go explore the country BEFORE the winter sets in. Go explore other cities like Zurich (I'm sure THAT's not boring), Lausanne, Fribourg, Lucerne, Berne... or hop on a boat and go to the Chillon castle near the other end of the lake. Head on up the Rhone valley, and up tributary valleys and side slopes... to Zermatt or Riederalp... over to the Bernese Alps...to Wengen, Grindelwald... Switzerland is small enough you can go almost anywhere in the country for a day trip if you leave early enough on the morning.

Haina yasto judgesab lai chai french ma ke bhanne re chha? Judge bro ta poora wild re chha ni---ammmmaaaammma! bhayankkkar nakacharo ni ho! ober rai gareko ho ki tyo ta-- French judge suspended for indecency in court Tuesday October 21 2003 18:23 IST Reuters BORDEAUX: A French judge was placed under official investigation for "sexual exposure" in a courtroom, prosecutors said on Friday, after a newspaper reported the judge masturbated while a lawyer pleaded her case. The 39-year old judge masturbated for several minutes on Wednesday while listening to a female lawyer addressing the court in a case dealing with a dispute between neighbors, regional paper La Charente Libre said. One of the paper's reporters saw the judge "making unambiguous gestures after discretely lifting his judicial robe and opening his trousers," it said. The judge was temporarily suspended from his professional duties and examined by a psychiatrist, a prosecutor in the southwestern town of Angouleme said.

People, The only thing really worth learning from the French language is the French kiss...ooooohhh, their tongue acrobatics is worth an arm and a leg. The rest, as they say, is passe. Bon jour SC

Dear L-a-x jyu, I had the fortune of once having a beautiful grammer teacher at school who hammered into my young consciousness that everything to do with the tongue is languge, period. Besides, she came from the school of thought which advoates that "A tongue is a terrible thing to waste." I was subjected to so much of her merciless tongue-lashing because she would refuse to let it sit idle. That is when I first learnt to distinguish and articulate my vowels and consonants. But if you insist that a French kiss is culture and not language, I am willing to take your word for it...amor! SC

Must have been an exciting presentation on the part of the lawyer for the judge to act that way! Aside from the lawyer's presentation and judge's exposure, it seems to me that there are so many folks here who would be good at teaching French to some of us folks who know nothig about it, except maybe French Kiss. Instead of Going to Vishowbhasha Campus for French lessons, people could come to Sajhapur Campus--which would be a much better deal; beacuse its likely that these good folks would offer it for free. Such a donation--in the form of a language-- would be considered a good gesture toward doing something good for the people of Nepal. Is anybody up for that? Its all about sharing resources. If you know it, don't keep it to yourself. You might be helping sombody find a job, which is a precious commodity these days. saunak.

The funny part was: while other students who could not answer the questions entirely in French would simply pause, I used to use English words if I didn't know those words in French, and still manage to speak complete sentences. So my sentences would often be a mixture of French and English. My professor used to laugh at it and remark "il parles franglais avec d'accent nepali"
