Anybody know what is the URL for downloading Oracle installer ?....beacuse the installer with the Oracle software has bug and I can not get connected to the database when I run that installer to install the Oracle 8.0 and developer 6.0 Anybody with similar experience and possible solution?? |

When I installed Oracle 8i from CD, installation would quit for no reason, no error..nothing. Later figured out there was a dll issue on windows 2000. That's not the same problem you are having right? |

Jackass, Oracle comes with its own installer but it has bug so even if you have developer(any version), the database won't get connected. The SQL portion runs fine but you can not develope any forms and reports without database connectivity. There used to be seperate installer later released by ORACLE and they had documentation on step by step process for installing the Oracle products. The site with that downloadable istaller seems not working. For quiting part, you are right..It would quit for no apperant reason. I think it is because of that bug. |
