What is this ANA anyway ? We hear about this so called "ANA" once a year and the rest of the year nobody knows or care anything about it. It seems like ANA is basically a group of well stablished Nepali born American just trying pretend that they love Nepal, that's all. Each member of the ANA is basically get together in ANA CONVENTION to show off their fellow friends and enemies what they've accomplished in the US.That is the main purpose and the mission statement of the ANA. I think GBNC has done much better job compared to ANA. |

In real life, these girls looked much better. It is the crappy ANA photographer who screwed up the picture. Just take a look at the rest of ANA convention pictures, it obviously is the worst set of photos I have ever seen. I bet my three year old Nephew cann do a better job. |

ANA Convention looks a great gathering for the Nepalis living at different corners of USA, especially, to lonely peoples. Thanks to internet, we could also view what really happened in the convention, that probably I will never attend in real world. The photogrphs are large size, instead of having direct click on large photographs, it would have been appreciated very much if they were first 1/4 of current size and another link was created to those who wish to see large pictures too as zoom view. It takes several minutes to those who wish to view the pictures from Nepal. So, the time to get links become more disgusting to peoples from Nepal, hardly 1% will dare to view all pictures that with my 100KB LAN link asked me to give after seein those half pictures. So, before you design your links think twice what is your target? I regret writing this sentence if its target is only to those who are in better world hooked with "speedy link". Let me comment on the behavior of the some of the guys shown in the photo sesson. I do not have much comment on photographer, and its light system. It seems to be taken from digital camera with close range FLASH, the scene on the back ground is not really visible. Finally, Photograph44 in MissNepal session is most disgusting. The male who seems to have taken a courtesy photograph with Miss Nepal is grabbing her as she is her girl friend. I am quite sure the girl (Miss Nepal) must have smiled for the audience pleasure, but, as a female she would have expected such grab from unknown person (even if known). The man does not either have sense, or he think its a right time to grab a woman who can not oppose or show dislike. In any sense, this guy deserves a sue in court as an attempt to harass the Miss Nepal sexually. Go and See Disclosure, and try to understand what is sexual harassessment. Why the guy's action is sexual harassement? Its because the Miss Nepal could not oppose because of the environment and the situation, and since she was not in position to reject the guys grab, its sexual harassement, and organizers are partly responsible. San : I think it is time this thread was removed. It is not funny when a couple of Nepali girls are slandered, demeaned, and made fun of in public - by a bunch of other Nepalese. I am no lawyer, but since these girls are in the U.S., they could file a complaint against this web-site in a court of law. They probably would win. You could track the IP address of every person who has posted in this string, but that will be pointless. Ultimately, it is the web-site that will be held responsible - ALTHOUGH NONE OF THIS IS YOUR FAULT. What do others think? Any legal opinions? |

To the beautiful girls in this picture: Do not be discouraged by the comments in this page. The people commenting here are only showing the nasty side of the Nepali national character. Probably none of them actually attended the convention. Only they criticise from afar. They are not proud of being Nepali, probably most are rejected by the americans too because of their poor attitude. If they dont have pride in themselves they will not have respect from others either. I am afraid that if this is the kind of criticism we heap upon anyone who dares to take part in a beauty contest, or who allows their picture to be posted on the internet, in the future few girls will want to take part in these contests. You can be proud of what you did. In picture 44 that I think is your mom and dad and they are good looking Nepalis too. They must be very proud of you and they should be. You have learned from this experience that not everyone in the Nepali community is of good character. Hold your head up high, posture stright, and right mind set. You will be successful here because you ar good and right. Be proud of you beauty and your nationality. Many will admire you and the cowardly will criticise annonymously without showing their picture. GOOD JOB. |

I have just wrote one extreme side of the photograph. Well, if the person who was behind the Miss Nepal is her brother or father, then, I was wrong to go very far, and I express my sincere apologies. Still, the footer / caption does not tell anything about the details of the photograph, so, I did not feel very easy with the picture, and I will be happy if the person behind her was her own father or brother, even far relatives. Otherwise, the webMaster or photographer and organizers should apologize, not me. GP PS: Sexual Harassment is a major problem in Nepal, that can not be denied. Though many might deny, but, unknowingly many girls and women suffer from such harassment. In fact, the persons harassing women, might even don't know whether his action falls under sexual harassment. This topic should be discussed. I , of course, the Miss Nepal contents because it will help in women's personal devopment, meanwhile, they should not be exploited in the name of contests. |
