Dear BMW Miss/Mr. (as the case might be),
I don't think it is a matter of being dumb or dummer. I am sure the lady in question did not head for Mother Teresa's ashram to lead a life of celebacy...she might very well turn out to be vindicating your fertile hunch. But we can't say anything for sure --seeing what happened with a prince, she might have now choose a pauper instead!
Again, as Sitarajyu suggests, somethings are best left to imagination.

I have been a silent listener for a long time.......but there comes a time of course when u need to vent. And for the record i am not any so called fan, let alone ardent fan of devyani.....it's just that i pitied the poor girl .... as someone had put me on same pedestal once and its totally nonsense. bhunte ji -- i dont know what's ur logic was behind making her a public figure but i am putting myself in her shoes and thinking hey she might not be even seeing this and here we are talking about someone's private life.

I have heard of that, but I was particularly interested to know of her 'khubility'. She might be a great singer, dancer, chatter, friendly, commanding, story teller, athelet, meloduous voice, sexy, or just because she has a nice bindiya (same with dipen as well), etc. Otherwise, why anyone want to be her fan? Is it because her father is RPP president, rana clan, or rich nepali? If it is due to "khandaniya duniya" then when will we get rid of residual slavery mentality?

Your concern is valid. But the fact remains that she is already put on a pedestal. It was not you, I, Bhunte or anyone else in Sajhapur who put her in the limelight more than two years ago. She became a public figure - not by choice, though.
We talk about Monica Lewinsky. We talk about kobe bryant. We talk about Manisha Koirala. And we talk about Pushkar Shah. Devyani is another name on the list. I sympathize with her but once someone's name becomes public one has to prepare yourself for the potshots people take at you.

Ladybug, if you go back throught the beginning of this thread, i haven't offended the lady in pic by any sense. I even haven't named who she is, but some people here smartly recognized her. It was BMW who started and strigns of debates continued thereafter.

Devyani is beautiful! The picture above is a bad one. She looks much much much better in real life. But there was much more about her. She was a very good fundraiser for her father's campaign, helped out in the family business, even helped Dipendra polish his speeches! She also was not your typical aristocratic lady from South Asia, who is groomed from the age of birth to prepare to be Maharani of some Indian state/or of the Nation of Nepal! She was very smart, always came top of her class. As an undergraduate, she majored in Political Science at Lady Shri Ram College at the University of Delhi. She holds two Masters degrees, one in Humanities and Social Sciences from Tribhuvan University in Nepal and the second in Development Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
I also know her whereabouts, but would never write that here. And I am upset that an educated man like Bhunte would bring her up like this on a public forum with her picture posted, where is is bound to get ctiticism from people! HAVE SOME MORE RESPECT!
She is an accomplished Nepali.

Ruby, I tremendously respect her. I swear you, but you are not believing me. As I have confessed earlier, I was simply naive of her whereabout or what might she be doing these days. No more than that. The lady who was able to give the love, affection, and able to win the heart of late Prince/King has also able to win the heart of many Nepali. Yes, as you have said she is an achieved Nepali and proud of that. Who knows she might be the future prime minister of Nepal! I am confident on that. By the way, did you see anwhere in this thread that I have criticized her? Let me know if I have, and beg pardon for that to all of you.

Not trying to be critical or judgemental or anything, but some of your comments here seem to be not coming out from a PhD student. Seriously, as a well wisher, I strongly sugegst that you go back to some of your comemnts and see for yourself whether they are quite thought through or not.
Having met you in person, I just thought it was my moral responsibility to tell you that at times, you have to think 30000000 times before deciding on which/what word(s) to use. Sometimes, its good to be on the defensive, but that does not mean using words that are "inappropriate" to describe someone REAL.

I think its against the spirit of Sajha to post someone's pic and then let everyone humiliate her. Its just not the Sajha that I would like to see, and I feel proud to be associated with. As a member and well-wisher of Sajha.com for the last 3 years (next month will be my third year in Sajha), I request you to send this thread to the deleted threads archives because this is getting nasty, dirty and personal.
Like ashu says, let's celebrate the achievemnets of the fellow nepalese, let's use this place to discuss ideas and NOT PERSONS.

Also,
Here's my argument on why this thread neds to be either closed or deleted:
1. Devyani Rana is not a public figure, she never was to begin with. Just because she dated the Prince of Nepal does not make her a public figure. Honestly speaking, how many of us knew that she was dating the late prince? Did she go out on the media and said that she was dating the Prince?
2. After the whole unhappy incident, she chose to remain out of Nepal and out of the public and the media. This automatically makes her a non-public figure. She is an as ordinary Nepali as Bhunte or his wife. Would our Bhunte ji appreciate somebody posting his wife's pic, who, hupothetically peaking, was once the beauty queen of PK campus and was talk of the whole Bagh-Bazar-Putali Sadak area?
3. She doesn't hold any position with the government. She doesn't write or give out interviews to the media. She has decided to live in seclusion. Furthermore, she never held any position in the past, she never gave out any interviews in the past, she is not an actress, she is not a writer or singer or artist or anything. She is just a normal girl, just like anybody's daughter, wife, sister or girlfriend. So, it is highly unethical to discuss about her in a public forum using all sorts of deregatory terms. It is simply not what one expects of all these western educated Sajha people. Be RESPECTIVE. She has chose to live in secluison, let her live like that. Its none of our business to find out what she is doing now or where she is living now.
