There used to be an oxidation pond (looks like that was what it was called) in Bhaktapur, somewhere near Nyatapola, back then in the eighties, its purpose being treating sewage. A German Project, funded by GTZ, with its name Bhaktapur Development Project, constructed and operated it, and possibly handed it over to Khanepani and Dhal Nikas Sansthan (Water Supply and Sanitation Corporation WSSC) for the continuation of operation and maintenance.

I was curious if someone out here could provide me some update on that oxidation pond. Is the pond still functional? or has it been buried with trash? With Khanipani and Dhal Nikas Sansthan being changed to Khanipani Sansthan, who oversees this sewage stuff? Nagarpalika?

Any input in this matter is highly appriecated. Namaste, Rishi

Someone associated with GTZ could kindly shed some light on this issue.
Ashu, are you with GTZ? Is that asking for too much? Thanks. Rishi
