Hello everyone!:) I'm a nepali living in Houston, TX for relatively a while. I certainly do not want to disclose my name here. Since i have been part of the Houston Nepalese Association and have attended most of the events that NAH so far has detained, i have always unearth confilct between the caste. Although, its a truth that we have distinguished ourselve into certain caste and groups back in our country, yet is it necessary that we have to pursue here in foreign land. Why can't we just be one caste and one group or one family? I had never or will ever vacillated to attend an event organized by any caste. Can i expect that from all the nepalese living in houston area? Can we just be "nepalese" and ignore all the nonsense? I acknowlegde that we have been raised in that ways, but things do amend. As i have mention above, i have attended all the extravaganza in houston, where there has always been only one group for certain event, for example, when they had jamboree for teej they were all from one caste, and for the occassion like dashain there were other different group. Why is this segregation? Why do we houston nepalese have to play dirty games? Can't we just be one family and chip in together to make a better community which shares happiness and sadness al-together? What i have wrote above is what i have observe throughout the years in houston. Excuse me intellectuals of houston area, if i have wrote anything off beam. My underlying principle is nothing more but why the isolation in one family that we have named as "Nepalese Association of Houston"? With regards HoustonKoNepali
