New editors at The Kathmandu Post and Kantipur

KOL Report

KATHMANDU, Nov 7 - Kantipur daily and its sister publication The Kathmandu Post have new editors in Narayan Wagle and Prateek Pradhan respectively.
Both Wagle and Pradhan assumed their responsibilities from Thursday. Their appointments as the editors of the countrys two largest dailies are the success stories of two working journalists who joined the publications as reporters 11 years ago.

Pradhan, a Fulbright scholar, who holds Masters degree in journalism from New York University, USA and another degree in economics from the Tribhuvan University, has been with The Kathmandu Post since its inception.

Wagle, one of the best known journalists in the country, has also been with the publications since the beginning.

Wagle rose to fame through his weekly column Coffee Guff published in the Kantipur daily. Wagle has received a number of prestigious awards for his contributions to the field of journalism.

Both incumbent editors are 35 years of age.

Amid a function organised in the office of the publications on Thursday, Chairman of Kantipur Publications Hem Raj Gyawali, Managing Director Kailash Sirohiya, Director Binod Raj Gyawali and other members of the publications extended their best wishes to the newly appointed editors and thanked the outgoing editor Yubaraj Ghimire for his contributions to the publications.

Ghimire was the editor of Kantipur for the last three years and The Kathmandu Post for the last one year. He resigned from the publications citing personal reasons. (yo)
