Japan court rejects Mainali's plea

The Supreme Court of Japan has rejected a writ petition filed by a Nepali Govinda Mainali, reports said Friday. The plea urged the court to review its verdict, which slapped life sentence to Mainali.

The court delivered the verdict a few weeks ago. The verdict said Mainali murdered a Japanese woman in 1997. Mainali has been insisting that he is innocent, though he had a physical relationship with the woman. nepalnews.com mr Nov 7

I will add following points on this issue:

1. Mainali was trapped, as it happens in Nepal, same thing happened in Japan.

2. The woman was call girl to high ranking mafia. She is an officer in Tokyo electric corp.

3. Govinda Mainali had sexual relationship with the women.

4. Based on Ashahi TV reporting (about an hour independing finding
by ATV, probably I am the only one Nepali to see the TV program).

Mainali came to the apartment at around 11pm after work (10pm: his work
record showed he worked till 10pm). Police was waiting for him at the murder
scene. He came. A Nepali who was close to the scenario says: Mainali 's biggest
mistake was to flush Condoms via toilets .... that was found and was easy
for Police to confine case to Mainali. Other thing: Nepalis around there say
was Mainali when caught by Police told to them something like this:
"Maile nai ho bhanne pani ke proof chha timiharu sanga". He told it as a part
of joke and with its less knowledge on its consequences. It is the biggest
reason police trapped him. Japanese police when they trap a foreigner,
or a culprit like people, Japanese TV and other peoples say that they
try to sort out evidence and sex up reports to put that man in court
and prove it, because they don't care who really did the crime, because
they had already spent so much of time to sex up the report. Its what
Tv commentators said on different cases where innocent japense are
put in jail. Japanese police want to prove that they can find culprits
, whether its by putting a real culprit in jail or anyone Baliko Boko in jail,
its how japanese police are said to be saving their face infront of normal
public and normal public believe what is said in TV. So, its a kind of
cycle and reciprocating things with TV police and public, while Jap. mafia
also help police to trap culprits and japanese police don't touch J. mafia,
because they are scared of revenge.

Thus, Govinda mainali was shown as a culprit, indeed a mafia member
had committed the crime. Japanese society thinks that crimes are always
committed by foreigners, they have a belief that japanese don't commit
crime. When some Mongolian like peoples commit crime, the TV peoples
report that the witness say Chinese like people was there, and its
very surprising that how can you separat a chinese and japanese by
face, but, its how peoples believe. When a crime is there, its by
Chinese. So, if you are foreigner living near by a crime scene, japanese
police first comes to you ask whether you are involved.

So, Japanese are by culture to sort out a foreigner is crime and he
comes to japan to commit a crime......... its a general belief among
general public and police.

GOvinda Mainali is victim of the system. We can not help. RN Embassy would
have helped him, but, RNE also loves Yen and ........... thus,
a poor guy is now jailed, for what? For his sexual pleasure.......

oh my god... it didn't occur to me... but what you said does make sense... japanese people are so cultured and polite, that it must seem impossible to them that any japanese might be able to commit any heinous crimes towards each other...
just a foreigners perceptions hai, please feel free to criticise or comment!

is there nothing that anyone can do for this man?? plus what does 'life sentence' imply in japan??

It's same like Japanese universities give Phd degree to foreigners in exactly 3 years irrespective of the quality of the work. Actually the foreign phd student to them is simply like a research assistant, not an associate. I even heard that in the transcripts the supervisor puts 4 - 5 courses with grade A, eventhough the foreign phd student had not taken a single class or in many cases no such courses was tuaght to anyone at that time.

Same with Mainali's case. He is doomed.
