Civilians banned from Singha Durbar

The government has restricted people's movement in and around the Singha Durbar, deciding to ban civilians' entry into the central administrative complex, reports said Wednesday. Earlier, civilians were allowed to enter Singha Durbar depositing their citizenship certificates at the main entrance gate. Journalists will be allowed only if they can produce the identity cards provided by the Department of Information, Rajdhani daily said quoting unnamed government officials. "Journalists must say clearly which office they want to visit. In addition, security force will keep an eye on the activities of the journalists inside Singha Durbar," the officials said.
