ook everybody...........i am just an observer in this polical scenario of nepal and i was just wondering why are we all so hung up with democracry. what exactly did we get.well for a starter i never knew what was bandh before 46 and now its one of the most used words by our so called desh sewi political parties. i rember walking to my board exam because some stupid ass political party called for a bandh. i have witnessed so many govt shuffle and reshuffle and ultimately fall down with no apparaent benefit to us .janatas.was it an accident or massacre.i really dont know but what ever happened was not good for the country. immediate word on the street was now king is gonna take over country and guess what.he did. did anyone complain beside girija and bam dev and all those other netas?. i was in peshawar when musharraf over threw sharif and they were celebrating.........i have no doubt similar scene could be observed on the streets of ktm. dont get me wrong.........i am in no way a maoist sympathiser........i despise them personally and the method they are using is no way humanly accepteble.all i am asking is is it wroth advocating for a democracy that we all witnessed or do we have someone with a vision on how we are going to propel our country forward if we have democracy back again.does anyone have a vision that we simple people would like to know and feel optimistic about.if not whats the oint of giving power back to girija or makune.

dude.......that's why our parents, relatives and our leaders fought for....to organise bandh. the bandhs organised show what power we have gained from democracy.....the successful bandhs show that we have "really" gained democracy otherwise the bandhs would not be possible..... we might argue that what has democracy given us?......here goes the explanations: before democracy we never knew that one of our slc board toppers Mr. Baburam Bhattarai who is supposed to be intelligent is such an "ass"....democracu has helped us know that he is the biggest of the loser among the slc board toppers. before democracy we thought our grandfathers and grandmothers did not want anything but the well-wishing of their children and grandchildren......now after democracy we have realised that our grandfather equivalent Mr. Girija still longs for power struggle...and Mr. Krishna Prasad Bhattarai still longs to be the prime minister..... thus showing that grandfathers don't care about their children and grandchildren being killed by maoists....what they care is just power struggle and the "chair" before democracy nepalese students did not have much opportunity to go to foreign lands.....( it's another story that there were many opportunities to have a good life in nepal itself)....but after democracy we have realised that going to foreign lands is necessary ....and this is good because we learn something new and useful....like cleaning dishes, making pizzas, etc. ...democracy in nepal has made our dream of going to foreign lands a possibility because that's the only option many youths have now......... before democracy we chanted "pamfa devi hai hai" ...( everyone knows this ) ....and also "birendra chor desh chhod" ( this is true..i heard this with my own ears in a rally in biratnagar in 2046 B.S)...but after the very birendra gave democracy to us, then we realised how "chor" our leaders were......thus we started praising the king again and knew his importance in our lives...now we cry over his death even after such a long time......thus democracy has made us realise that how foolish we were to chant ill against our beloved king.....

Yap: We got the democracy and lot of things went wrong. Leaders let us down. We are the one who chose to let the leaders ruin our country. We kept quiet while they were in power. May be we don't deserve one since we dont have capable leaders and since we dont stop leaders from destroying the nation. After all these, I truely believe that SOMETIMES SILENCE IS SIN... Frankly if you ask local people in KTM streets they will tell you that system does not matters. As long as there is peace, stability and growth, people will be happy. What matters is the capable leader who is brave and far sighted enough to lead. Do we have any? I have yet to see one.

We all Nepali fought for Democracy to overthrow the ancient Monarchy on the path shown by our leaders. But result - a failed state. These leaders could not accomplish them. We have gained nothing but lost everything. Recently I had a chance to speak to US Ambassador to Nepal Mr Michael Malinowski. He was of the view that the current situation of Nepal is due to Democracy. Nepali people expected a lot, and nothing could be fulfilled. Well, that was his views and I guess every Nepali today has the same view. Unemployement has sky rocketed, Maoism was also a result of the Democracy, Curroption, no law-order, the list would never end. Nepal was much better under Royal Palace than these curropt leaders - who given a chance might even sell the whole nation.

Not meaning to sound judgemental here, but I highly doubt this is Khimu's original piece. Having known khimu since his nuwaran days on sajha a little while ago, I know this is beyond his current scope of vision to write something like this. Just because someone posts something here, doesn't mean he wrote it!

Just because I know nothing about politics does not mean I can't provide some insights on the subject inadvertently!
