personal freedom is sometimes sacrificed when a person becomes involved in a relationship. Marriage, engagement, even steady dating or close friendship can steal part or most of a person's freedom. This was especially true in the past for woman, bacause a wife was expected to devote her time exclusively to her husband and children. What part of your personal freedom are you willing to give up because of a relationship with another person? Consider time having fun with other friends, time doing crafts and hobbies, or time just lying around reading or daydreaming. Can relationships exist in which neither party has to give up personal freedom? Or is that what a relationship is about? peace of mind khimu

Khimu, Itall depends upon the understanding between the people in the relationship. In a good relationship if you feel like you needed some time by yourself, both people should be able to understand it and then let that happen. Ifit means doing crafts and hobbies, then you can always include the other person in it. I do not think that a good relationship demands that you give all your time to it. There definitely needs to be some time when you need just to be by yourself so you can reflect on what you have been doing.

I would love to part of my mate's hobbies but what if her hobbies include going to Linen'n things, body shop and endless hours of chatting. Euhhhhh....I don't think I can act like I'm having fun for more than one visit to those stores. My idea of freedom is not being dragged to those stores.
