Posted November 19, 2003-- The Source magazine has revealed a brief clip of an Eminem freestyle verse about 30 seconds long that CEOs Dave Mays and Ray "Benzino" Scott consider racist and disrespectful to African American women. The freestyle was reportedly recorded in 1993.Advertisement

The freestyle, which was unveiled at a press conference in Manhattan was played for a small group of reporters. In the rap, where Eminem is freestyling over a human beat box, he says the following lines:

"I'll get straight to the point Black girls are bitches, that's why I'ma tell ya you better pull up your britches/ Cause all that cash is making your ass drag /From the boyfriend ya ganked and that's pretty bad/ I mean that's pretty sad when ya dating a Black guy
And then you turn around a fu*k another big, Black guy/ Now that's pretty wrong, but you're just ganking/ But that's okay because you need a goddamn spanking/ From me, the funky Eminem."

Other freestyles were played in which the rapper discussed his distain for the physique of the Black woman and used the "N-word."
"There's so many styles I might get thrown And here's the place where I like to roam
And all the girls that I like to bone/ Have the big butts, no they don't/ 'Cause I don't like that ni--er shit/ I'm just here to make a bigger hit/ When I be kickin the hypest, dopest rhyme/ Just say that Eminem is the best MC of all times...Yeah!," he said in the rap.

Eminem has already issued an apology and attributed the comments to youthful ignorance.

"Ray Benzino, Dave Mays and The Source have had a vendetta against me, Shady Records and our artists for a long time. The tape they played today was something I made out of anger, stupidity and frustration when I was a teenager," Eminem said through a statement.

"I'd just broken up with my girlfriend, who was African-American, and I reacted like the angry, stupid kid I was. I hope people will take it for the foolishness that it was, not for what somebody is trying to make it into today."
