A strong earthquake has hit areas of central Nepal sending people scurrying out of their homes into open areas. The quake struck Kathmandu and neighbouring areas at around 10:10 p.m. local time and lasted for about 7 seconds. It was not immediately clear what the magnitude or where the epicentre of the quake was. In Kathmandu, panicky residents ran out of their homes into open spaces. It is also not clear if the quake caused any damage or if there were casualties

Even if the quake hits, even if the massive floods overcome Nepal, people like Girija and Maoists try to use that for their interest. Nepalese people are victim of this moron old Koirala and his nepotist visionless politics. Whenever he is in power, either a leader of opposition is killed(Madan Bhandari), or king is killed, or leaders who oppose him (Man Mohan Adhikari , Ganesh Man Singh ) die. How can it happen that those all (Even Nepali people also) die with diverse reason when Girija is in power irrespective of their age?

Hi Dumdum Did you forget about the massive floods and landslides in 2052 Bhadra? Even the mother nature also suffers to give way to Girija's political problems. Ha Ha Ha. Gandhi

Koirala was not shaken off his chair in the aftermath of the earthquake. He vowed to remain on his chair until his natural death. It is reported that he thought the shaking was the work of Maoists. He has ordered an end to all earthquakes in Nepal and has asked the army to enforce his order. Anyone caught shaking from an earthquake may be shot. Geologists have placed the blame for the quake on the army setting of enough guns to shake the earth into an earthquake. Parliament is sending 100 members to investigate how Japan, California, and the Islands of the Carribean deal with earthquakes. The report is due three days after they return just before Dasain. The investigators will be allowed to bring anything into Nepal which was shaken off the shelves of the shops in these countries. This allowance includes large luxury vehicles which are not subject to tax.
