KP Bhattarai calls upon King for 'power handover'

Former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, in a rare public appearance on Wednesday, said, the King "can solve" and "should solve" the current political problem. "Power handover will resolve all feuds."

"The King can give an outlet to the current political crisis," Bhattarai told journalists after participating in a function organized to felicitate him and a leftist leader Mohan Chandra Adhikari Wednesday.

Elaborating his stance, ailing Bhattarai said, "King has accumulated more than necessary power. He should give up power for the sake of parties."

But, if the King delivers a decision, which is, this way or other, in the favor of parties, the parties must accept it, he said.

"If the King is still reluctant to hand over power, parties should continue agitation," Bhattarai said extending moral support to the five parties "anti-regressive" movement.

The five parties movement, Bhattarai said, must be "strong". There is no option to the ongoing movement, he said.

On the question of "militarisation", Bhattarai counter-questioned, "Where is militarisation? I don't see it!"

Earlier, addressing the function organized by Human Rights and Peace Academy to felicitate him, Bhattarai expressed dissatisfaction over the increasing incidents of human rights violations both from the state and the Maoists. Nepalnews.com mr Dec 10

3. Create another Mao type situation....
4. Have another round of split within parties......

Can sajhaiites add more to the list............

How many of us (Nepalis) give a damn about what KPB is saying now? How actually is KPB doing favor to the nation these days? "...and he is still out in nepal strugling for a shake of a country" I think KPB is neither "shaking" the nation nor doing anything for the "sake" of it, in present days . Yes, I give him due credit for his contribution in the past but he has simply lost almost all of us influence over so-called powerful ones. All he has left is with some ceremonial status and even that is struggling to keep afloat.

Nevertheless, what he has said now is not completely off the mark. But who is listening? Yes, who is listening? The damn so-called leaders in our country don't even listen to themselves, let alone others-especially the people they claim to lead.

Recon ji Americama you donn't need to kiss anybody's 'ash' by the way...this is not Nepal where you need to go around kissing everybody's 'ash' for jobs and everything else.
Krishna Prasad budho could have done and said lots of things when he had his time, I guess his time is over now. He and his friend Girija should go to Kansi.

naulo_nepal Posted on 10-Dec-03 07:52 PM

Krishna Prasad Bhatttarai is the hero of nepal for peaceful movement and revolution. He is a true believer and leader of peace, democracy and liberty. In his leadership in the past he has launched different peaceful movement towards Panchayati regime like Satyagraha and JanAandolan was also not that destructive and violent. He believes in peace movement with active participation from public where rights and liberty can be restored like in the past. Why Not all political parties follow his path of non-violence and peace to setlle current conflicts and war which is hanging in the nation??

Hello everyone, I have few questions regarding DV interview in kathmandu. What kind of documents we need to make it for the interview? When I see the letter from the kentucky visa center, they did not require the sponsor form I-864,or I-134. But, when I looked the web site of emerican embassy in kathmandu it seems like they require those forms. Would you please clarify me in this matter. Also, what is the different between those I-864, and I-134 forms? Since, I am here for more than a year do i need police report from here in the USA? Also, since the interview date is already fixed in Nepal, is it better to adjust the status from student visa to Immigrant visa here in the states or go back to nepal and do it? also, can the same sponsor will be able to sponsor for more than two people in two/three years?
Thank you in advance for your kind help.
