I have got a strong complaint against Suskera, Paradesh and other literary ezines for their secrecy. Their 'About Us' section is faceless. Why are they reluctant to put the names of the individuals who work so hard to maintain these magazines ? I do not know if others feel the same way as I do, but it feels strange to see literary magazines living a life of secrecy.

I assume some of Suskera and Paradesh people are Sajhaites. Hence this complaint here.

I agree with Nepe. I have wondered why the editor(s) have chosen to remain in the dark. Modesty? Maybe the editors think it lends an air of mystery. But personally it makes me wonder what y'all have to hide?!

Also, I think unfortunately the quallity of work featured is mediocre, which seems like a real missed opportunity considering there are such excellnt Nepali writers out there writing both in English and Nepali. Not to mention the many world class artists who paint and draw and use all sorts of traditional and real avant garde medium to express their creativity!!

Maybe, the "Us" of Suskera should consider decloaking and inviting new blood to liven things up.

BTW I think the best writer I have read there is Sunil Nepali. He is really funny. Anyone read his three stories about the exploits of Nhuchý Ratna Tuladhar?!

Nepe and Qallu,

"Why are they reluctant to put the names of the individuals who work so hard to maintain these magazines ? I do not know if others feel the same way as I do, but it feels strange to see literary magazines living a life of secrecy."

"Maybe the editors think it lends an air of mystery. But personally it makes me wonder what y'all have to hide?!"

first off thanks for your comments/concerns. being a new Sajhaite/fan and volunteer of Suskera here goes my answer - we're not trying to create a mystery. i don't know what we gain by that. basically suskera is non for profit org that is volunteer based. full time students, full time workers, at times both make up our volunteer body. so we don't really have an OFFICIAL editorial body as far as who is the editor, who is the assistant and stuff. But if you do read the monthly journal, you'll find a editorial with a author. most of the content of the journal is submission based. and also, the journal is only one of our programs. we do other stuff as film screening, art exhibitions (such as ANA Denver), raised funds for various causes, etc.

hope that answers some of your concerns and thanks again
