Congratulations and best wishes to long-time Sajha contributor -- Village Voice -- on his starting a separate English weekly in Kathmandu.

May his newsweekly -- called The Mirror (the last I heard) -- succeed on all fronts, making Nepal's English-language press all the more vibrant and lively.

Congratulations also to Pushkar Pokharel, a former Boston resident who now lives in Canada, on his getting married in Kathmandu recently. Pushkar, who is the world's number-one fan of Bacchu Kailash and who remains close friends with Bacchu Dai,
has sung the Bacchu Kailash numbers countless times on various community-related occasions in Boston and Kathmandu.

Sabai ko falos, fulos, ramro hos.

Village Voice, Congratulation! Wish you a great success in your future endeavor! If it is available in web, hope we can read as well.

Ashu, I sure remember meeting Pushkar and listening to Bachchu dai ko geet haru in his melodious voice. Unbelievably, over 4 yrs have passed since that wonderful Boston yatra. Please extend my congratulations to him.

VVji, congratulations and best of luck in your new endeavor.

My Best Wishes to VV ji! May he be successful in bringing Nepal, Nepalese/diaspora... together, to form a candid, interactive, interesting community.

BTW, from a source close to me who is also involved in the new venture: The name of the magazine will be "The Nation Weekly." I suppose we'll just wait for their first publication to see what they decide on regarding the name of the magazine.

I've also been told that they will have a column dedicated to the Nepali diaspora -- something that we, the modern day "Lahures," can surely look forward to in the new magazine!

Pushkar-jee...how could I have missed him in all my frequent visits to Boston in the early to late nineties??? I too am an avid fan of Bachu Kailash (unlike Pushkar-jee, though, I only sing Bachu Kailash's songs in the shower!), and would have loved to hear Pushkar-jee sing his songs.

Poonte is right, it has arrived in the name of "Nation weekly". www.nation.com.np (found somewhere in another thread). Nice articles, a little different. Enjoy !
