I applied last Nov. I was asked to show Form 1797A (H1-B Receipt) and all my old passports on which I had previously travelled to US. I also had with me documents below which the consular didn't asked for. To be on the safe side, I recommend taking these documents in case they ask you for. - Most recent Pay stub - Statement of an Employment from my employer - School transcripts from US schools - Diplomas - Old I-20s Good luck and enjoy the trip.

H1 stamp shouldn't be a problem in Nepal . Take these ducuments 1. your H1B approval notice. 2. Recent Pay check stubs 3. all your previous VISA and I-20 and other ducuments that show you were in status while you were in USA. 4. A Letter from employer that you are still working for them. Good luck

I'm not sure if you can arrange your appointment from States. I made the appointment in KTM. The process is to pay Rs 7,400 at Nabil's Bank in Jamal. You need to take your H-1B approval notice and your current passport. They will make copies of these documents and will return the originals. They will then schedule your appointment with the embassy. I believe I went on Wed. and got my appointment for following Mon. Once the counselor approved my application, took them to 30 mins to stamp the visa. All in all, the process took 2 hrs.
