Since there is a news black-out in place in Rolpa, nobody knows what's really going on except the army. All you get to hear is all sorts of Maoist propaganda to uplift the morale of their supporters. Sometimes they say they have escaped taking the hijacked police along with them, sometimes they say they have surrounded the army, sometimes they say that the army just shook hands with them and let them go and so on and so forth. The people who brought back the news from Rolpa, the so-called human right activists, are mostly supporters of Maoists and they willingly propagate the propaganda.
I believe that the army is firmly in place, and even though they have been unable to rescue the policemen so far, the so-called Maoists-controlled districts are firmly under the army's control. Believe whatever you like.
