YOU ARE FIRED, yells my supervisor. WHAT??? I am angry. She tells me without any expression, "From tomorrow you don't have to come to work" as if explaining to a 3 year old. Great, just what I needed to start my day. So I go to the cafe and tring--- goes my cell. Hey Meera, Tiger is puking, looks like he is sick, says my roomie Ashley. Tiger is her 3 month old kitty who I am allergic to. What wrong, I ask concerned. She ate some of your food, the one in the bottle. Oh no, my achar! Why of all things did she have to eat my achar, after all it is a food I cannot do without. I tell her, Ashley, everything will be fine. BTW, Meera I am sending you the bill. Oh no, I thought this had to happen on the very day I lost my job. So I sit there trying to console myself, good thing I lost my job after all it sucked (no it does not). Oh well, they did not pay well (they paid just fine). So I say I will go to my dear old sajha chat and talk to my numerous friends there. I admit by now I know almost everybody there. So I log there and as usual argue with my homestate dai, Wutang. Suddenly, this man comes in the middle of our conversation and calls me names. I am surprised for this I have never met this guy. So confused, I say, What? Sorry dai if I said something wrong and he goes like, the kids who come here are pampered. They should be spanked. I don't even know who he is adressing, I certainly don't consider myself a kid. So he goes like "Meera bitch, did you hear that?" What does one reply to something like that. If only WKW was here, he would know exactly how to deal with the likes of him. So I ask myself, what did I do to deserve that. I don't ever remember saying hi to this man, much less talking to him. So feeling a little heavy, I go to the cafe. There I meet Steve-the college hottie. Steve, "what's up!" Meera, "Nothing, just studying for my bio class tomorrow." Steve, "er......do u want to have dinner with me?" Meera, "Why?" I have a crush on him for months now. Steve says in one breathe, "I always wanted to go around with you ever since high school.I realized that you are the one for me, I will even learn your Indian culture, you are not going to turn me down are you?" By nw I am flushing furiously. "Steve, its Nepali culture and make it lunch" is all I manage to say.
Maybe the day did not turn out to be as bad as I thought :)

Yup, Tomorrow is another day!...I'm thirrsty anyways :) so bring on the SUN! :)!
Ahem *cough-cough* Who's that boy? Na-na-na-na-na, who's that boy, hooking up with my buhari? :-P. I thought u were my buhari :p! Oooh Lala, now u sitting with ur hottie crush on a teeerrreeee? :)!

ohh meera ji, k bhanne, life is chaotic.........Entropy is the law of universe...it goes from bad to worse......
but in your case, u ended up in a positive note ;) la.follow up in sunum na.....next time STeve lai haat le khana lagau na, k bhando raicha .....loo loo..hope u get another job soon hai? hamro ma lab monitors ko post ta open cha :)....transfer hune bhaye ;)

Thanks everyone for reading and commenting on the piece. It was my first story to be published in a website so was apprehensive about the comments. Give me some construcitve criticism too so that I will know the areas to improve in next time.

it is not a real life story, is it?
why were you fired?
why did ashley want you to pay her bill? since the cat ate your food, shouldn't you ask ashley to take care of her cat properly and to pay for the food that her cat ate?
and when steve asked you out, why would he say that "i am willing to learn your culture?" this steve asking you out scenario looks like a sweet dream of yours to me.
these were the points i was thinking when i was reading your story?? you need to polish your story a little, so that other people like me won't suspect you of just making it up.

it would have been worse.. when ya two go eat n he goes toward bathroom when the bill arrives :)...
like in those movie.. happy ever after :-)
