Venue: Park School, Brookline, MA http://www.parkschool.org/ Date: 20th March 2004 Kids one day "Anapana" meditation course is being held at Park School, Brookline, MA. All the kids of age group 8-12 years are eligable to participate in the program. Anapana is a simple technique of mental contration that helps to get mastery over the mind. It is a simple exercise of mental concentration on natural inhaling and exhaling. This simingly simple technique is so powerful and pragmatic that you can see the results then and there. In one day training, kids are learning to be master of their own mind through their own experience. This technique is found to be helpful in overall activities of the kids. I thought eligable Nepali Kids should also take advantage of this auspicious event - this is the first reason why I posted this message. This tecnique is considered to be a gift of the Great Son of Nepal - Gautama The Buddha. Sons and daughters of Nepal will get this wonderful gift of thier ancestor - this is the second reason why I posted this message. Parents and guardians are welcome in the event, but they can not participate in the training. Application form and general information are online: http://www.dhara.dhamma.org/Children/ChildrensIndex.html I will more than happy to take your questions: SHANKAKU@BC.EDU May many kids get Benefit of this wonderful techinque! Isn't it obvious that most kids in America loose the real value of many things that are brought infront of them. It's like the have stuff animals, toys of all animals and it potraits the picture of cute elephants, tigers, bears. They're bombarded with toys and unreal things that their parents think is right. Those animals are not cute, what they need is respect in their own wilderness, and not as exotic pets and cartoon figure portraits and in the zooz.Same thing is with meditation as it is becoming more like a fashion now. I don't care what U say, kids of that age in this country will not concive the real meaning of meditation. It's a crock. |
