Itihas Shiromani Babu Ram Acharya is the most well-known historian of Nepal.A recent piece about the legendary historian on Kantipur
Koseli has a good news for we readers also: a new book by him on
the easy and uneasy relation between Nepal, Tibet and China is
being published by his son Srikrishna Acharya.
His book "aba yesto kahile nahos" was published last year, and
was very famous. Itihas Shiromani is widely considered to be
a brilliant extraordinary historian whose contributions to we
less educated new generation of Nepalese are immensurable.Those
who have read Itihas Shiromani's books become easily impressed by
his precise pointing of our historical trends, and their
patriotical analysis.
Unlike the last generation, Nepal's new generation (of 20-30) is
mostly educated and aware. Onus lies on them to educate their
children about the people who worked in the adverse condition
and under the watch and restrain of detestable Rana rule for the
sake of the nation that we are all proud of: Nepal.Unless we
tell them who our great heros were (authors, uniters of divided
Nepal, etc) they continue to develop apathy towards our heritage
and fall under the spell of false heroes and sham leaders.
